A/N: This IS a fan-fiction of Avatar the Last Airbender, because come on, best television show ever. And I love their characters to death. Not to mention the fact I've had a hard time finding a fan fiction related to this worth reading. So why not write my own, right? It's going to start out in a normal world so to speak and then our main character will end up in the avatar world. Bare with me, sometimes I struggle to find motivation so I won't write everyday.
On another note...
In all of the related fan fictions I've read people rush relationship growth way too much. Relationships just dont form in a matter of hours. If you hate someone, you don't just get over it, most people, being the self absorbed beings we are, dwell over little things; if you think you care for someone the relationship progresses over time. I hate how all off the fan-fcitions I've read form quick and easy relationships right off the bat. I plan to extend and show detail in the development of the relationships throughout the story, just so you know ahead of time I'm not wasting your time by half assing the story line.
Enjoy :)

"It's not fair," My friend pouted while pulling on her shirt.
I rolled my eyes from my spot against the door, "Life's not fair. Hurry up you're going to make us late." I walked over to my bed and picked up my backpack.
"But I don't see why we have to get up at five in the mornning for this, I don't even think the freshmen will be there." I sighed as she continued to whine. Usually I'd put up with it but I was unusually on edge today.
"Yeah well, they all suck fat dick. Let's go." I replied impatiently as she zipped up her jeans and grabbed her bag off her bed. I forced an exasperated smile at her before stepping out into the hallway.
"Fucking boarding schools and all their stupid rules. Its only orientation." She muttered as we made our way down the staircase and into the chilly fall air that awaited us outside. I made no move to say anything else about the subject hoping she'd let it drop and we could go on with our lives. I wasn't too happy about it either but the sooner we got there the sooner we got to leave.
We walked across the well manicured lawns and passed by the boy's dorms, a few lights on as I imagine they were just waking up as well. I remember last year when I had spent a lot of time sneaking in and out of there and I felt my cheeks warm with a remorseful blush. It was in the past, things had changed. Just at the start of my freshman year in public high school I got beat up, and then kindly returned to favor to my tormentors. My parents had since sent me to a posh boarding school hoping that it would influence me into being a more "respectable lady."
So far it's failed. I still am the same girl I was when they sent me away three years ago. I was never that out of hand anyway. I just got fed up with people walking all over me, so I handed it to them. It's not my fault that they can talk the talk without being able to walk the walk.
The auditorium was swarmed with newcomers and Freshman, all buzzing about and wide eyed with the extravagance of the building. Ribbons and bows where hung along the walls and tables were set up for the orientees and those giving the following tour of campus, which would be me and my friend, Katie.
I had met my friend Katie durring my orientation, and it turned out that we would be roommates. At first we ignored each other, she stayed out of my way and I stayed out of hers until a drunken escapade throughout the woods where we got so trashed, we had convinced each other we were going to die. Needless to say, it was a bonding moment and I haven't been able to drink since. Her being a high scholar and wanting nothing more than perfection convinced me to join our school's student council, leaving me and her helping out every year with orientation. Being seniors this year we have the oh-so-lovely privalege of being tour guides.
