"Yes sir... yes sir I understand" I said as I talked on the phone to General Morshower. Hanging up the phone I looked at Alice.

"They're sending me to Afghanistan" i said as I put my phone back in my pocket.

"I know" she replied in a somber tone.

I leaned on the counter in the cullens kitchen. I had just gotten back from Pakistan, and now their sending me to Afghanistan.

"You cant call out?" Esme asked as they all stared at me in fear. Fear that I wouldnt make it back, fear that something would happen.

"No," I started "as leader of spartan company, I'm supposed to be their."

"When do you leave" Emmet asked as if he knew what the others were thinking

"Tomorrow morning"

It was soon, too soon, something mist have gone wrong that the general couldn't tell me over the phone.

"Listen. We have the night with Alex, let's try to enjoy it" Bella said as we sat down and enjoyed each others company.

***the next morning***

The sun was rising as I walked out of the house with alice in tow, my duffle bag in the back of my dads 1996 ford bronco.

My mom, hugged me as my dad, alice and I all climbed in.

The base wasnt far. Just an hours drive.

As we entered the base, Alice gave me a few quick pecks on the lips and hugged me, crying to show she would miss me.

"Here" i said as i gave her my watch.

"Keeps this for safe keeping, and look at it when ever you feel lonely" I said as she looked at the watch I had just put on her wrist

"Keeps this for safe keeping, and look at it when ever you feel lonely" I said as she looked at the watch I had just put on her wrist.

She hugged me, and cried more.

"You come back to me, you hear me." She ordered.

"Yes maam" I said as my dad patted me on the shoulder.

"I'm proud of you son" he said just before I left.

It would be another 2 years before I got to hold her again.
