Sparkling White Light

"Jesus", I shouted in terror and quickly flashed the light to my leg. But all I could see was just my shoe and the untied lace of my right leg. And yes. The movement on my left leg was the untied lace of my right shoe. The one thing I then realized was that I was just trying to convince myself from one side that I wasn't scared in that dark cave while I was terrified to the brim of my saturation point.

I quickly tied the lace back and tucked them into the shoe so that they would get loose and scare me again. Until then, the inside of the cave had a very peculiar aroma of the water and the small plants that was very pleasant. But suddenly I was able to smell something like rotten flesh. I wasn't even half way into the cave and I could smell this awful aroma, that was filled completely inside the cave. I wanted to go back and inform my friends about this , but I backed off with that idea, since I felt they would again humiliate me for being a coward. I wasn't a coward. I wanted to prove it.

So, I decided to go further and check from where the smell was. I took a deep breath and said to myself that I was brave enough, it was okay and I was not a coward. But that's the first biggest mistake I made that day. As I moved on, the smell started to get denser, but I was having a very fickle mind and was not able to decide what to do. I didn't want to back off but at the same time I was not having the courage to move on. Finally, I got stubborn with myself and decided to move on saying, nothing more would happen than death. I was ready to take up any challenge that came in my way. I screamed for almost 10 times in that cave out of terror. The small herbs, insects, the wind from the spaces of the cave, the water droplets that fell from above, everything. Everything scared me, including my shoe laces and my own shadow, until I saw it.

A sparkling white ray of light was seen showering from the top of the cave at a distance and there was something shining like a chest of gold in that place where the light fell on the ground. I was astonished to see that light in that cave where there was hardly any big space for the sun to penetrate. Double quick, started walking towards that light. The queer thing was that, as I walked towards that light, the smell started to get denser and denser and I was able to hear some distant whispers from my back.

I turned back and flashed the torch all around the cave but nobody was seen and even the whispering had stopped and even the smell was not there.. There was darkness that lasted till the end of the cave. As i took a step forward the whispering and the smell was back. It was strange and I was pretty sure that there was something abnormal here in the cave that never existed before.
