Warning: mild description of injuries :p
George awoke in a cold sweat. He had been dreaming. Considering what his dreams had been, that was good. Very good. He ran a hand through his hair and leaned back against one side of the couch, sighing heavily. After feeling around in his pocket for a bit, he located his phone and pulled it out.
3:52 AM
The boy groaned and forced himself to get up from the couch. He looked over at the bed and saw Clay sprawled out, snoring quietly. George shivered and silently crawled into the other side of the bed. He quickly fell asleep to the sound of his friend's breathing.
Clay woke with an arm around him and was surprised to see George hugging him.
The blonde started to freak out for a second, thinking he had done something with him before remembering what happened.
George nuzzled into his chest, causing the taller boy to turn red. It was a good thing he wasn't awake, or he would have made fun of him.
Just then, George let out a yawn and slowly opened his eyes.
"Clay? CLAY!" He shot out of bed and immediately started to apologize. "Ididn'tmeantoinvadeyourpersonalspaceimsosorryillgo."
Clay just laughed.
"It's alright George, I don't mind."
"You... you don't?"
He laughed again, this time as he made his way out of bed and walked up to the shorter boy.
"How the hell haven't you noticed George? I like you. I really like you."
George stood there, feeling shocked, happy, and confused, though his shock was most obvious.
"But... Wilbur?"
Clay's smile fell. "Yeah... this isn't fair to him though. I was lying to both of us, I'll tell him as soon as I can."
"Well then, I should probably tell you that I broke up with Lea."
"Really?" the taller boy looked at George, pleasantly surprised.
"Yeah. And I really like you too."
Clay hesitated for a moment but tightly hugged George, almost dying from happiness when he hugged him back.
"Alright. I need to go talk to Wilbur before he finds out some other way. I'll be back soon."
He sent Wilbur a text that told him that he was going to his room.
Wilbur opened the door and smiled when he saw his boyfriend standing in front of him.
"Hey, Clay!" He went in for a hug but he was stopped.
"Look... we need to talk."
He had a gut feeling that this wasn't good news. Definitely not. Once they had sat down across from each other, Clay spoke up.
"Wilbur, you're an amazing person, and you're one of my best friends, but I don't think we can keep dating each other."
"W-what?"
"I like someone else, and I don't wanna end up hurting you later because of this."
Wilbur was frozen. He had been happy, even if just for a day, he thought that they had something. Apparently not. But...
"It's ok," he said, forcing a smile. "I just want you to be happy."
"Really?" the younger boy asked, looking a bit surprised.
"Yeah. And we can still be friends, right?"
Clay smiled at him. "Of course we can. I'm sorry if I hurt you or anything..."
"No, no, I'm fine."
"Okay then. I'll leave you alone for now. Call me if you need anything."
With a wave and a smile, he was gone. As soon as the door closed, Wilbur buried his face in his hands. He hadn't exactly lied. He really did just want Clay to be happy. But it wouldn't hurt if he was happy too.
Lea paced around her family's living room furiously. She had thought a lot about what had happened and had come to these conclusions. One: George wasn't gay. It was impossible. Absolutely impossible. He was just being used by his friend. Two: His friend was the one tricking him, so taking him out of the picture would save George. Three: She was going to be the one to do it.
(a/n I warned you guys it would get worse, here it comes)
The next day was the first day of Vidcon, and Dream had a good time shocking his fans with his face reveal. He, George, and Sapnap spent the day walking around, meeting other youtubers and fans, and going to a few panels. As the day came to an end, they were absolutely exhausted. They met up with the rest of their friends at the end of the day and walked back to their hotel, laughing and talking about all the people they had met.
Clay collapsed on the bed as soon he and George made it back to their room. George giggled and lay down next to him.
"Tired now, are we?"
The blonde faced his boyfriend and buried his head in his chest.
"So... hungry..." he groaned dramatically. The shorter boy ruffled his hair and got up. "I'll go get some food, alright? I won't be long, be patient."
"Ugh... fine," he got up and gave George a hug. "You're cute," he mumbled, causing the older boy to turn red.
"Alright alright, don't you want food?"
He nodded and laid back down. George made his way out of the hotel and to the nearest fast food place. A pair of teenage girls recognized him there and took a picture. He had a quick conversation with them, then hurried back to the hotel, not wanting to keep Clay waiting. However, when he arrived, he was greeted with a surprise.
Clay was lying on the floor, a bruise forming on his face.
"What the hell!?" George ran up to him and sat him up.
"Clay? Clay, wake up!" he shook the boy a few times before his eyes began to open.
"George...?" he squinted at him and rubbed his face. "That bitch..."
George looked at him, puzzled. "What bitch?"
"Your stupid ex... how the hell did she get in here?"
"W-What?" George lifted his hands from Clay's arms. "Lea did this?" He was shocked. She had never seemed violent before, it didn't seem possible that she'd hurt his boyfriend... right? George decided to think more about this later and focused on helping the blonde boy. He cleaned a few scratches on his face, but couldn't do too much about the bruises.
"Thanks, George. But what are we going to do about Lea? What if she hurts you?"
"I'll talk to her, alright?"
Clay stared at him and hugged him, practically suffocating him. "Are you insane? I'll talk to her. You're not getting hurt because of me."
"O-Okay, but you better be careful, I'm going with you."
"Fine, just make sure she doesn't know you're there."
"Alright, let's go tomorrow morning. I'll give you her number."
They fell asleep with George's head nestled right beneath Clay's.
