Neeya shakily moves her hand towards her baba face to check him...no breathing! "Babaaa!!-" Neeya nd Ma were sitting nd crying badly.
People were looking at them from their window but no one has courage to help them. Neeya looks around nd sees people peeking. She stands nd shouts,"Are tum log kya jhaak rhe ho.....yaha ek admi mar gaya...is gaon ke bhalai ke lie apni jaan de di aur tum log kuch na kar pae...Bas khade hokar tamasha dekhte rhe....Are kaise log ho tum... Matlabi..!!....Mere...baba ne tum log ke lie ladhai ki sab kuch kia...par tum log...dhikkar h...dhikkarr h!!!" Nd she kneels down on the ground crying nd screaming..."Babaaaa!!......
Apki Neeya kaise rhegi apke bina...Kaise jiegi apki ye beti...Mai apko nhi bacha pai baba...nhi bacha pai.-"
she wanted to scream but the lumps in her throat werent allowing her. She cries nd screams.. It was like someone has taken her soul away.. her life away..
Her baba was everything for her...
Ma was sitting there wid her husband in her lap nd totally numb.. Her tears were flowing out of her eyes but she wasnt able to speak.. She was broken. They took her husband away nd now she cant bring him back even if she wants to.
An old woman comes there wid few people nd kneels infront of Shekhar. She starts crying nd cares his face. After few mins of crying, she wipes her tears away nd turns to Sujata. "Hume le jana hoga ise...aur...tujhe bhi.." Neeya looks on shock..!! Dadi!?
Ha dadi. Jab unhe pata chala ki Baba is samaj mai badlaw lana chahte h, ye riti-riwaj aur andhvishwas khattam karna chahte the aur mujhe padhana chahte the, tabhi dadi ne humse sare rishte todh die the. Baba ko apna beta kehne se inkar kar dia tha ye bolle ki wo is samaaj mai kalank hai Jo humare dharma ko bhrasht kr rhe h..aur aaj ye yaha...kareeb 2 saal baad. Neeya turns around.. "Aap q aai h yaha pe?...Kiske lie aai h?" Neeya says controlling her anger nd tears.
"Neeya-" "-NHI!...Kuch nhi bolengi aap dadi...Bahut ho gaya.... Jab apke bete ko apki sabse jyada jaroorat thi, tab apne chodh dia. Aur ab aap yaha aai h jab unki.....unk.." she burst into tears. She want her baba back. She want her baba to wake up nd hug her, tell her that everything is okay..
She goes to baba nd kneels down beside him,"Baba....utho na....utho babaa...apki beti ko apki jaroorat h baba...dekho na ye kya keh rhi h..ki apko le jana h....aap apni beti ko chodh ke nhi jaenge. Haina....baba...Babaaaa...-" she cries nd hugs him..
Ma wasnt getting what to do. She couldnt move. Dadi gets tear in her eyes. She did wrong to leave her son alone. When she got to know about his son's death from the villagers, she couldnt stop herself. She tries to pull Neeya away,"Neeya...hume Shekhar ka antim sanskar karna hoga..." She says crying. But Neeya hugs her baba so tightly nd screams "Nhiiii!!" She doesn't want to leave him."nhi. Kahi nhi jaenge ye....kahi nhi...babaa.."
Dadi signals women nd then they pulls Neeya away from Baba, "Nhiiii...Babaaaa..." She keeps calling him out, screaming nd crying but her body was so tired.. but she still wants to stop them. Dadi sees her granddaughter broken nd goes to her,"Neeya. Antim sanskar to karna hi hoga na. Haan!? Unki atma ko shanti milni chahie na?" She nods sadly. "phir. Ab jo chala gaya hum use nhi la skte par antim vidai to deni hogi na.?" She dont answer. Dadi is right. They have to perform last rituals.
"Baba ko nhi la skte..nhi? Lekin unki maut ka badla to le sakte hai na...ha....Kamal...Indra...kasam meri Durga ma ki wo din door nhi jab Tum jaise paapi ka ant hoga aur mere hi haatho hoga!" Neeya whispers to herself in anger with all the image flashing Infront of her when her father pulled the trigger on himself.
Neeya sits on the floor crying nd watch four man covering him in white cloth. Neeya closes her eyes letting every tears flow out..
The women goes to Sujata nd wipes her sindur away nd takes out the bangles nd throws them away. They take out her mangalsutra and bindi. One of the women says to dida so that only she can hear,"hume isko bhi le jana hoga sati ke lie." Dadi looks on nd then nods slowly. They make Sujata stands nd makes her walk. The four man picks Shekhar body up in their shoulder nd starts chanting Ram Nam Satya h..Ram Nam Satya Hai.
Baba..aap nhi rhe....apne mere lie apni jaan dedi...q baba?...q?....par..apki beti jinda h abhi...aur mai apne baba ka sapna poora karungi....apne baba ke lie ladhna h..apne baba ko garv mehsoos karana h...baba...baba ka raja beta abhi h aur wo apne baba ko garv mehsoos karaegi.....Baba humesha mere paas, mere dil mai h... She recalls her baba words.
Once he said,"agar kabhi mujhe kuch ho gaya na, to kabhi dukhi mat hona. Kyunki mai humesha tere sath hu. Tere dil mai.. are bachpan se toone mujhe sataya h. Chipki rehti ho. Bhala mai q chodunga tujhe..." "Kya baba...kya baat kr rhe h aap. Bhala apko kuch q hoga. Mai hu na. Kabhi nhi jane dungi apko mujhse door." "Ha beta. Par ye jindagi h. Ye bhi ek khel ka maidan h. Jisko jitna khelne ko milta h, wo apna utna khel ke maidan se chala jata h. Insaan jyada to nhi khel skta na.? Durga ma ne jitni jindagi di h, di h. Hume ye nhi sochna ki kitni, par ye ki jitni di h, hume uska shi upyog karna h, use acche kaamo mai lagana h. Aur mujhe pata h, mere jane ke baad meri beti mujhe nirash nhi hone degi kabhi. Haina?" Neeya nods nd hugs her. "Aap sabse acche h baba. Mai apse bahut pyar krti hu..Bahut!" "Mai bhi Sona.." he whispers back patting her head. He somewhere knew that what he is doing can push him near death, but he was ready for it.
Neeya opens her eyes nd tries to control her tears but then she sees people taking her baba nd Ma? Away. She sees Dadi nd other women standing there only. Antim sanskar mai to sirf admi jate h..phir ma? She wipes her tears away nd runs to Ma. "Maa..." She catch her nd study her. she is so much broken, so much hurt. Neeya feels her heart sank. She wanted to take all her pain, all her tears away. But she dont know what to do. Her love, her husband is no more....cuz of her! Mujhe ma ke lie majboot rehna hoga. Baba ma ko aise dekhte to toot jate. Nhi. mai Ma ko nhi tootne doongi.
"Ma. Aap q ja rhi ho..Ma..bolo na.." Ma doesnt answer. "Ma..bolo ma...chalo wapis." Neeya pulls Ma from there but is stopped by dadi,"Ruko!!" She sees dida standing infront of her. "Teri Ma ko jana hoga tere Baba ke sath." "Q? Ma ki halat dekh rhi h aap. Kahi nhi jaengi. Ye-" "ise bhi tere baba ke sath jana hoga." Neeya looks on shocked. "Sati hogi ye." Neeya feels everything fades away. Only one word that she is scared of. Sati? Ma? Kya?
