Aug glared at Evan while toying with the idea of killing him on the spot. He knew he could do it, and he knew he could get away with it. However, the idea of what Layla would think of him kept him from acting. Instead he shot Evan a warning. "She the only reason you still breathing nigga" as he entered his condo, slamming the door behind him.
Aug made his way to the kitchen and poured some Hennessy into a wine glass. Taking a long sip he started to concoct a plan to get rid of E. This feud between them had gone on for too long. It started years ago when Evan started moving weight in Aug's territory without permission. Aug had spared his life then in order to keep the peace in the streets. However, these recent events were the final straw. Aug knew he had to be strategic and that it would take time to get rid of Evan. But there was the issue of Layla. Aug was falling in love with her, something he wasn't accustomed to. He needed a way to keep an eye on her. After finishing his drink Aug thought he had the perfect plan. He started making phone calls to put things in motion.
The next day all residents on the 25th floor awoke to find notices on their door stating that there would be 2 hours of scheduled maintenance. All tenants were to vacate their residences during that time. Since this happened several times a year anyway, no one questioned the notice. Once the hall was clear the men Aug hired went straight to work. They entered the condo Evan and Layla shared and began placing hidden cameras in every room. Aug walked across the hall to inspect their work. He was drawn to the room he was sure must've belonged to Layla. It even smelled like her. Sweet like honey and mangos. Aug was intoxicated by the scent. He didn't want to invade her privacy, but he could help himself from looking through her closet and drawers. He wanted to know everything about her, but she was so guarded he felt like she would never tell him everything. While rummaging through her nightstand his hand landed on a journal of sorts. Aug immediately picked it up and began reading. He couldn't believe the things in the book and he wondered it was real or just some story Layla had made up. He read the explicit details of how Layla and Evan met. The journal even detailed all the disgusting things Evan had done to Layla while she was forced to live with him. Aug placed the book back where he found it and stormed back across the hall where the workers were waiting to receive payment. Aug checked his phone to see he could now livestream the activities in Evan's condo. He quickly paid the men and sent them on their way. Aug knew that he would have to get Layla out of there sooner than later, and when he did she would come running to him... or so he hoped.
