━━━━━ 𝓐 faux smile was plastered upon Elena Danvers' lips as her father snapped photos of her and her brother together. In all honesty she wasn't in the correct head space for that day, school then a party. She wanted to skip it all after the morning she had endured. But for the sake of her father, she decided to plaster on a fake smile as the man had taken the morning off to see his children dressed up for the day.
"Say, 'We are adolescent'!" John exclaimed as the two repeated his words with smiles.
"Okay, we're gonna be late for school." Sam called out as their father placed the camera down on the coffee table.
"Okay, well, have fun tonight." He said hugging Sam as Elena grabbed her bag and hugged her father. "Hopper might call me in if he needs back up."
"Back up?" Elena asked with furrowed brows knowing the sherif wouldn't need back up unless he was uncovering something big.
John shrugged, "We got a call a week ago 'bout some burned pumpkins, I don't know guy was trying to tell us it was aliens or something, anyways, for some reason Hop thinks it's an actual lead to something." He explained as Elena glanced to her brother who listened in silently. John let out a laugh as his children falsely laughed as well. "Probably some kids with some early Halloween pranks, anyways you two have fun. I'll be back before eleven, I expect to have both of you home by ten."
Sam groaned and opened the front door and hopped onto his bike as Elena sighed but was stopped by her father.
"This morning..." He trailed off.
"Dad, it was just a bad dream. Nothing, honestly." She nodded.
"You looked like you saw ghost."
Elena laughed it off, "Again, staying up watching horror movies isn't great but gets me in the Halloween spirit."
"Well, it is your favourite time of the year, didn't think you had to get in the spirit. As soon as it hits September first, you're already decorating the house." He joked as she smiled.
"I'll see you later, bye daddy." Elena hugged her father once more.
"See you later, peanut." He said kissing her forehead before she exited the house.
She saw Jason leant against his car, it reminded her of another blue eyed boy. She shook her head trying to get Billy Hargrove out of her head. She eyed his outfit, he was dressed as Danny Zuko. She silently cursed Madison knowing it was her idea. "Danny."
