Chapter 3
I kept walking closer to the city, but the more I walked the farther away it seemed. Ugh! Why did this city have to be so far away?! Then I had an idea. I started walking backwards, still looking at the city. The city appeared to be getting closer. After a few seconds, the city disappeared! Great.
I just fell on the ground, expecting the soft grass that was in front of me to be what I landed on, but instead I landed on soft grass covering concrete. Ow! That really hurt! I stood back up and walked backwards 1 step.
To my utter amazement, the land around me and the city dissapeared. It was almost as if there was a giant blue bubble around the city. There were fountains, kids playing around, and absolutely no unnecessary greenery! I was wrong, the city was not demolished! All around me skyscrapers stretched high into the sky, and everyone looked happy. It was light outside in this city bubble. I walked to a bench and tried talking to someone, a middle aged woman. I said, "Hi! I'm Jo! How are you on this fine morning?" She made no indication that she even heard me. I tried again,"Hi, I'm Jo! Who are you?" I got the same response from the woman: nothing. I tried again, louder. "Hello, I am Jo! If you don't respond to me I will be really mad!" "JUST TALK TO ME!" I shouted, close to tears. I tried again,"HELLO I AM JO AND I AM WONDERING WHERE THE HOSPITAL IS, BECAUSE I HAVE AN EXTREME CASE OF AMNESIA. I CANNOT REMEMBER ANYTHING BUT MY NAME. CAN YOU HELP ME?" The woman did nothing again. Then she got up and walked over to a little girl in a green zip-up and black shorts, and started talking to her.
Wow. Jerk alert! That woman was mean. I walked away. I was just standing in the street, looking at my new home that would help me figure things out, when a blood curdling scream could be heard. I ran to the source of the noise, adrenaline pumping through my veins, when the woman who was screaming shouted,"RUN! RUN! RUN! JUST RUN RUN AND NEVER LOOK BACK RUN! RUN RUN RUN! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" She ran all the way out of the city. It wasn't until a moment later when I saw why. Snow White, Rapunzell, Malifecent, Aurora, ALL the fairy tale charecters were running down the street. Elsa and Anna were climbing out of a manhole, and were screaming in unision: RUN RUN RUN! Then zombies started showing up. And unicorns. And mermaids dragging their tales behind them. Everywhere, fairy tales and made up stories were coming to life. I ran foward and tried to punch a zombie, but my hand and body just went through it. Whaa.....? That doesn't matter! I thought to myself. I had to save the city! A.K.A. my new home. I tried to grab a barricader thing, but my hand went through it. I tried to touch a bunch of things, but I soon realized that I couldn't touch anything. What? I tried everything I could to stop the zombies, but without being able to touch anything, I couldn't even slow them down.I watched in horror as every villian and zombie destroyed the city, and a all the people too. The worst part is that I couldn't do anything.I was helpless as I watched my to-be home destroyed. Completly and utterly destroyed, demolished. Suddenly, all was dark again and I was in the city I had seen from outside. I fell to the ground, sobbing.
-sorry for the short chapter again. Oh, and the romance comes in the next chapter. I can't write that one, yet because I am having a contest for a new character. Whoever comments the most can tell me their idea for the next character, and I will put that in my book. The deadline is this saturday. Noon on 1/10/15. If no one has commented then, I will make the story character without character ideas from whoever is actually reading this story. Hope you like my story! Thanks for reading (if you did). Again I hope you enjoy! Since no one has called me out on my terrible grammar, thanks for supporting me by not discouraging me! I will update this saturday. Bye for now :p-
