Immediately after I finished singing,I heard applause. The applause was very loud,so I could only assume it was very near to me. I looked up,and loads of the people in my year group were clapping for me. I was shocked. I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned around. Stood behind me was my boyfriend. I flew over to him and hugged him. He laughed, and his dimples started showing. I smiled as he leaned in to kiss me. Then, after a little bit, someone coughed awkwardly, causing us to separate. Sharlie came up to me and George, looked at us funny and said,"You two dating?" In reply to this,we both nodded. She smiled and put her hand out for George to shake. "I'm Sharlie. Sharlie Thatcher." Then, from behind her,the others came to shake his hand. "And that's Emma,Freya,Leia and Ariana."
George nodded, smiled and said,"Hey guys," causing them to all get the jitters and giggle uncontrollably. I stepped in front of him and shot them the daggers look, meaning,'Back off bitches,he's mine.'
Surprisingly, they got the message and swanned back off to see the crowd that was still there anticipating my singing once more. I walked over to said crowd, hand in hand with George, and said to them,"Oi,you lot! What do you want me to do for my next song?" There was a lot of dispute over which song they wanted me to do. Some wanted me to do Cannonball by Little Mix,and others wanted me to do Firework by Katy Perry. I decided to do Cannonball, and clapped my hands to get them to shut up. The talking slowly died down,as I opened my mouth and began the song.
"There's still a little bit of your taste in my mouth
There's still a little bit of you laced with my doubt
It's still a little hard to say what's going on
There's still a little bit of your ghost, your witness
There's still a little bit of your face I haven't kissed
You step a little closer each day
That I can't say what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
Life taught me to die
So it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball
There's still a little bit of your song in my ear
There's still a little bit of your words I long to hear
You step a little closer to me
So close, I can't see what's going on
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
So come on courage, teach me to be shy
Cause it's not hard to fall
When you know that you just don't know
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to lie
So come on courage, teach me to be shy
Cause it's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball
Stones taught me to fly
Love taught me to cry
So come on courage, teach me to be shy
Cause it's not hard to fall
And I don't wanna scare him
It's not hard to fall
And I don't want to lose
It's not hard to fall
When you float like a cannonball."
It was silent for the first minute or so after I finished the song. It seemed even the seagulls had shut up,for once! And then everyone burst into a round of applause. I just grinned and smiled at my lovely boyfriend, who I know would get me through all the times I needed him. After all,as it said in the song,"Stones taught me to fly, love taught me to lie,so come on courage, teach me to be shy, cause it's not hard to fall, when you float like a cannonball." Those words,I will always take with me. Forever.
