July 4, 2017 - Our World, Together

Miles away from the Mexico Border, Daniel's excited face stretched through the roads in front of us. Filled with glee, Sean didn't let go from embracing me.

An hour later we drove across Puerto Penasco, a city in Mexico filled with medium rise buildings catering for tourists and locals. Daniel's eyes twinkled as we watch the dazzling light all around us. It has been five long months since we've cross a city and it filled us with utter amazement to see such thing.

"Are we there yet?" Daniel asked.

Esteban chuckled. "Soon, Mijo."

Then after a 2 and a half drive we arrived in Puerto Lobos.

I could smell the aroma of the salty sea as we head through the ports and back to the fascinating sight of the beaches.

Soon the RV stopped in front of a run down two storey house. Esteban parked the RV to the roadside and looked at his passengers.

"Well, its been too long what you'd guys expect?" Esteban chuckled.

I smiled and got out of the vehicle. "Its not bad. Just a little bit of cleaning and it'll be good as new! I only saw a picture of it and how it looked like after."

"Oh?" Sean said stepping down the vehicle as Daniel followed him. "What does it look like after?"

I pointed at the second floor and began to explain. "There should be a painted sign... Diaz Repair Shop. Don't worry we can clean this maybe in just a week?"

"I'll help!" Daniel called out.

Esteban and Karen got out of the car and gaze at the rundown house.

"What do you think, hun?"

Karen smiled and took a quick glance at him. "It's perfect. We'll make sure of that."

We then rented a room for the meantime as we clean the coast house. It was easy to lift up the debris and pull out heavy things as Daniel uses his power while Sean made sure that no one's around.

Its already been three days and we managed to throw out the remaining debris, leaving us an empty house to clean. We then took a break for awhile to a nearby restaurant named Doña Felicidad which made Esteban cried out of glee upon entering.

"Maria!"

"Dios mio, que?! Eres realmente tu? Esteban?!" A quite cheerful and stout lady got out of the counter and embraced him. "Its been so long!"

"Si mi amiga. It's been so long indeed." Esteban the gestured and introduced us one by one.

Maria then called out everyone and introduced her family to us.

"This is Israel, my eldest. He's our chef, you see." Maria said holding his arm. He has an olive skin with a piercing brown eyes and black hair. He then looked at us and waved. He is Israel, just as I created his character from the other world of the Blood Brothers ending. He is supposed to be of 24 age when Sean met him.

"Laura, Angela! Come down here, mija!" Maria called out upstairs.

Moments later a long haired woman climb down from the stairs, holding her younger sister with her right hand. "Que es mama?" Her name is Laura, age 16 just 2 months younger than Sean.

"Hola!" A young girl wearing a pigtail smiled and waved at Daniel.

"Nice to meet all of you." Esteban smiled. "Where is Juanito by the way?"

"Ah..." Maria simply smiled. "He's in heaven already, watching over us."

We then got into our seats as Maria placed her famous enchiladas on the table. Daniel immediately grabbed a serving and tasted the famous dish. His eyes widened and took a quick glance to his father. "Dad! She stole your recipe!"

Esteban chuckled and shook his head. "Mijo, the opposite. Maria taught me how to make her famous enchiladas." Esteban said smiling at Maria who was then laughing as she went back to the counter.

"This is really, great. Hun." Karen said picking up a hot sauce and mixed it with her serving.

I then smiled at Sean and nudged his waist. "I didn't realize they're here."

"Hmm? What do you mean?"

"Doña Felicidad. I made them to be your close friends at the other... version. When you two crossed the border."

"Really? It looks like Dad knew about them."

I nodded. "I'll tell you all about them later."

After eating our lunch in the restaurant, we then say goodbye to the family and went to the house to finish cleaning.

The day ended having cleaning all over the house, wiping the ceiling from cobwebs, mopping the walls and the floor. We were then exhausted and immediately dropped down on our beds in the room we rented. The next day, we took a shower and went to the nearest furniture store and basically bought everything we need to start our new life in Puerto Lobos. I then picked up a newspaper and showed it to Sean.

"That's all?" Sean said reading the headline. "They didn't say we crossed the border. Just a massacre?"

"I think they can never explain what happened that day. Who would even believe that Daniel did this. I think its better they hid your identities."

"Yeah... I still have David's police scanner... I'm not hearing any of our names now. Do you think they gave up?"

I shrugged, not knowing why. "Dontnod made it that way. Crossing that border is freedom, that's the only thing I could tell you. I can't go back to my world now, to see what's happening. Though... I don't regret it one bit."

"Thank you, (y/n). I know its too hard to leave everything behind. Do you... miss them?"

"Yeah, of course. But you see, they will now remain as memories. I just want to know if they're alright over there."

Sean then embraced me and kissed me on the head. "I know its hard. If you chose to leave that day, we will miss you too... I couldn't expect less to your own family. I don't know what's on the other side of yours but... I'm thankful you're here."

I smiled and kissed his cheek. "You're welcome."

The next day, the moving truck arrived in our coast house as one by one placed our newly bought furniture inside the house.

"Just place it right, here." Karen said, guiding the workers inside the garage.

Sean and I then helped placing the furniture and basically decorating the whole place while the heavy things, we made Daniel to carefully lift it.

At the seventh day, we managed to put everything from the RV inside our new home. We then spend the entire day looking at the beach as Daniel and Mushroom play.

"Want one?" Karen said handing a cigarette to her husband.

Esteban simply smiled and shook his head. "I don't need it anymore. I'm happy we're all here together."

We then sat on the monobloc chairs outside the terrace, watching the sunset, all exhausted and happy.

I then looked at Sean and smiled at him. "Just so you know, I don't regret it one bit. I'm happy to be in this world of yours."

Sean placed his head on my shoulders and watched his little brother play by the sand. "I love you, (y/n)."

"I love you too, Sean. Thank you for everything."
