"Last Stop, Gravity Falls, Oregon!" The bus driver announces to the near empty vessel. A somber looking girl sighed in response to the bus driver's cheerful announcement and began to pack away the book she had been reading during the long ride. A murder mystery novel titled 'Blood In the Water'.

"First time around here?" The driver asked the girl, looking into his mirrors.

The girl nodded with a forced smile "Yep... And hopefully the last time.."

"We'll be arriving in about 10 minutes, make sure you take everything. Would be a shame if you forgot something" the driver added

"Noted" she mumbled, taking a second to double check that she did, in fact have everything packed up. Leaving one of her belongings on this nasty public transit would surely earn her a scolding from her mother...

(-A 10 minute time skip later-)

The bus slowly pulled into it's stop, opening up its doors. She doesn't hesitate, and steps out as quickly as possible without coming across as rude.

"Stay safe, ma'am. I've heard weird things about this town.." The driver suddenly states, leaving the girl a little confused. But before she could ask any questions, the bus pulled out from its stop and back into the road. She shrugged it off, zipping open her bag and getting out her cellphone.

A sudden honk of a limousine horn made her drop her phone in the mud. She grumbled, picking it back. She hated mud...

"Adelaide! Over here dearest!" A middle-aged woman with long brown hair, a dark green dress with lighter green trimming, and hazel eyes called from the back of the limousine, waving her hand out of the window

"Coming, Aunt Meg!" She waved back, rushing over to greet the woman.

"How was the ride here, darling?" Meg asks, but interrupts her response. "Oh, you can tell me all about it on the way to the mansion! Climb in!"

Adelaide opened up the limousine door and climbed into the back seat, setting her bags in the empty seats surrounding the two.

"Now tell me, how was the trip?" Meg asks, pouring herself a glass of champagne.

"It was fine, I guess. Very boring... I don't see why I had to come here in the first place. I was perfectly fine with spending my summer in the city" she folded her arms across her chest with an irritated sigh

"Oh I know you did, dear. But look on the bright side! An entire summer with me and your Uncle Thomas! That can't be too bad, can it?" Meg sips on her champange "And it is a nice change of pace from the chaos that is New York City"

"Yeah... It is pretty chaotic. The taxi driver that took me to the airport was rear-ended by an Uber Eats delivery car... We almost missed the flight" she remembered how the Taxi Driver actually got out of the vehicle, ranting about 'how his boss wanna gonna kill him'

This made Meg chuckle. "Well, I assure you that there are no Uber Eats cars out here.. Just the occasional bear!"

She smiled a bit at the joke. The two talked for a while, catching each other up on how thier lives have been. Meg was a fashion designer, a very renowned one at that. Her husband, Thomas, was the manager of his own company. Which he built from the ground up. They were imaginabley wealthy.

Adelaide's parents however, were both artists. Her father worked more with sculptors, and her mother with paints. But they were almost always away on business trips, so she often found herself alone. They figured it would be better for her to spend the summer with her aunt then to spend it alone.

Adelaide hated this, however. She detested the countryside and everything about it, but there was no arguing with her parents on the matter. Instead of staying in her air conditioned penthouse for the summer, she was out in the humid and and bug-infested woods of Oregon

To get to the mansion, the limousine had to pass through the actual town of Gravity Falls. Adelaide looked out of the windows, watching the townsfolk go about their days.

A very large lumberjack man, a woman with a strange eye, and an older man with a messy white beard all made her cringe. Meg notices her reaction and sighs "The people in this town are.. A little out of tune. But the beautiful surroundings and wildlife make up for it"

While her aunt was ranting about the wilderness in the area, a girl with blonde hair, diamond earrings, and a very expensive looking purple outfit caught Adelaide's attention. What was someone that rich looking doing out here in this small town?  The blonde gave her a dirty look and a wave as the limousine slowed to a stop at a red light. The blonde walked up to the window, and tapped the glass. Adelaide reluctantly rolled it down with a fake smile.

"Oh Hi! You must be new around here! Im Pacifica. Pacifica Northwest" the blonde girl beams. "You probably saw my mansion on your way up here"

"You know, I think I did see it!" She smiles "The little shack up on the hill right? With the deer statues?"

Pacifica huffed a bit at her comment, and through gritted teeth, replied "Yep.. That's the one!"

"Well we better head to our mansion. Im just so tired after that long trip from New York City.." Adelaide smiled sweetly.

"Oh, a city girl, how precious. You must love it there, I can tell. You even have that 'subway train hobo' smell to you! You should stop by our shack sometime for a makeover, you could use ine sweetie." Pacifica grinned that Im Better Than You grin. Adelaide was taken aback by the sudden rudeness.

The limousine began to pull away as traffic began to move again when the light turned green. "

Well I hope You have a good time here! Feel free to find me if you need anything!" She yells as they drive off

Adelaide was silent the rest of the ride, thinking about that rude blonde. She was so petty! She bothered her... But she wasn't going to let some girl she just met ruin her summer. She was going to make it the best she could! With or without air conditioning!
