Drip
Drip
Drip
Droplets of water raced down into the small puddle of water. Another thunder boomed outside, illuminating the small establishment with its silvery light.
Booming sound followed it's lead as Rose wrung out water from her red scarf, taking advantage of the fact that the small puddle, from when she came, in would be removed, so she decided to dry her clothes a bit.
The storm had worsen in the last five minutes since she entered the cafe. It wasn't her intention to get stuck in the middle of a thunder storm, or even get wet. The weather forecast showed a beautiful sunny day so taking advantage of it she was out discovering the town, visiting the local hiking spot.
She should have known better, had been warned multiple times by a family friend about how unpredictable the weather in this small city, could be. The least she should have done, was to bring an umbrella with her. But alas here she was wet and cold.

At the start of her day it was pretty sunny just like the weather report told her. It was only on her way back from her hike, that the dark clouds rolled in. She thought she could dodge the rain by parking her van near the Cafe she was in at the moment, but unfortunately for her, the parking spots were filled and she had to park it a block away.
She then thought about rushing inside but then again she was going to get wet anyway, so why not enjoy the rain?
Big mistake. Now she was all soaked up and cold. Not to forget about the scolding she got from sweet 50 year old Teresa, her friend from childhood , who was always on a look out for her.

But she definitely wasn't the only one who got stuck in the rain, with just a sweep of her eyes she could see a group of men sitting in the corner, who looked quite damp too. At least she wasn't the odd one out. She thought.
Adjusting her scarf again she grabbed her small laptop bag and moved toward the book section. She again sent a small prayer of gratitude, happy that she had placed her laptop and drawing tablet in the waterproof bag.
She sat down on the small couch placing her bag on the small side table. She wished she could enjoy the view of rain but sadly for her, her favorite table in the corner was occupied and she didn't want to take the small table that was left. It was always occupied by a cute old couple at that time of the day.
She didn't want to impose ,incase they got there. She knew she sounded like a goody two shoes, heck she was told by many people on multiple occasions about how they thought she was a 'pushover' but she couldn't change who she was neither did she want to.
'Mabey I wasn't supposed to enjoy the rain today.' She thought wistfully as she brought out her laptop from her bag.
'welp time to get some work done' she thought pushing away all the negativity and summoning all the creativity in her body. After all she would need lots of it, if she wanted to get this project done.

Typing then deleting, typing then deleting. Cracking knuckles and tapping feet. This had became a new constant for her in the last five minutes. Getting a college degree was hard and she was the living example of it. But she was thankful that she could complete it online.
That way she got to travel different states, completing her dream of visiting beautiful places and get a degree to fulfill her promise.
This project was exceptionally hard, so she was thankful that she was almost finished with it while she still had a few day until deadline. She always managed to get her project done before everyone else. She was very thankful for her time management skills.
Being the only child, made her quite responsible. Both toward herself and her parent. Especially towards her parents. They were the love of her life. They were like stars in the sky and rays of light in her life. She always put them before her. The same way they had done for her all her life. She would have done anything for them.
She knew they worked so hard to give her the life she had. They didn't have the best start in life. Coming to a country so foreign to them. Just so they could quench their thirst for adventure .
They obviously didn't have much. A few couple bucks, hearts filled with love and mind filled with dreams. They didn't want to survive in this world like many were doing. No they wanted to live. Live a life full of excitement and adventures. They were also the ones who taught her how to live. Even without them.

The rain, after pouring for half an hour, finally relented, allowing the small crowd that had came together to seek shelter, to finally disperse. Some left immediately while some sticked around for a warm cup of coffee. Looking back at her laptop she was happy that she was done with the typing. She only needed to review her work for mistakes and then she would be done.
Now that she was finally done with it she decided to to order coffee for herself. But before that she decided to move back to the table in the corner. The men who occupied it originally left a few minutes ago and she wanted to go sit in her usual place so that she could see the greenery outside and sit on the much more comfier benches.

Moving her stuff took her a few minutes but it was worth it. Sliding into the seat right next to the seat, she let out a sigh of. The warm cup of chai tea in her hands made a wonderful combination with the beauty outside. She leaned back into the chair trying to find a comfortable position. Instead she found something poking her.

Upon further investigation it was found that she was sitting on a wallet, probably left by the previous customer, which was conformed once she peaked into the wallet finding the ID of the blond man who was occupying the spot previously. And that's how she found herself outside again, although without any rain, rushing to find the person who left their damn wallet.
