= Joey's POV =

I tapped my foot impatiently, waiting for Stacy to pick me up. She was dropping me off at rehab before making a video explaining my absence to my fans. We had decided for her to say I was going to a family emergency where there wouldn't be any internet connection, which had happened before. Hopefully the psychopaths wouldn't ask any more questions. They were usually good about this stuff.

I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard a honk from outside. I grabbed my duffel bag and hurried out to Stacy's car.

- Timeskip to when they're approaching rehab -

I stared out the window, waiting for some kind of signal we were close. Suddenly, a sign flashed by-
California State Rehabilitation Center- 5 Miles.

Stacy must have seen that sign too, because her eyes got a little misty.
"Oh Stacyanya, don't cry. I'll be out of the place in 6 months, and besides, they allow visitors, albeit only every 2 months, but we'll take what we can get, right Stacyboo?"

She sniffled. "I guess, but I'm just so angry they're making you go to this horrible place! What person with any shred of compassion would do that?!" She was getting madder and madder with every word.

I inwardly chuckled. "I'll be okay in there. I'll miss you and long for you every single day, but at least it's not like prison where I'm in danger of dying all the time."

She sighed. "I'll miss you too, Joey."

I sucked in my breath as we neared a stark grey building- the California State Rehabilitation Center. "Well, this is it, Stacyboo. Time to give me one last hug. Actually, I'd prefer a kiss, but-"

I got cut off by her lips pressing into mine. I leaned into the kiss, her body pressing against mine as we floated into our little utopia of magic. We kissed until I needed breath, but I didn't really want to alert her to this fact.

Suddenly she cut off the kiss. I looked at her, confused, but if she noticed my bewilderment, she showed no sign. She got out of the car. Motioning for me to follow, she heaved my bag out of the trunk, hugged me goodbye, and drove away.

I mentally prepared myself. This was it.

I approached the plain black front desk. The woman behind the desk looked at me with boredom and said, "How may I help you."

"Hi, I'm a new patient?"

The women stared at her computer, fingers poised over the keys. "Full name?"

"Joseph Michael Graceffa."

She entered the name, then said, "Yep, you're all set. Just go to your room. Take the stairway at the end of the hallway, go up a floor, 6th door on the left."

I thanked her and walked down the hall. I peeked in a couple of doorways and saw no less than 5 crackpots screaming bloody murder at each other.

Jesus, what have I gotten myself into?

a/n: shanghaii!! this was a bit of a filler chapter but one of the longest chapters in the whole book which is a bit weird.
