After the first trip of Luke and I getting boxes out of my jeep Ashton jumped in to help, which made the process go by much quicker, and in no time the jeep was clear of boxes, leaving the room full of them. I was glad that Ashton hadn't commented on all of the stuff I had brought with me. He also seemed a little surprised by the keyboard and guitar I unpacked from the Jeep, but made no comment about them.

"I forgot how much shit you had." Luke laughed as we brought the last stack of boxes into the room.

"i'm sure your mom is happy to not have all of my shit taking up room in her house, though." I replied with a smirk.

"Shut up, Mom loves you." Luke defended, pushing me by my shoulders.

"Wait, how did you get Liz to let you come here instead of Yale?" I ask, stopping my movements and turning to Luke.

"I just told her I'd rather come here." He shrugs. "I think she was just glad I actually decided to go to college." He laughs. "I'm going to go unpack. I'll come by later and help you finish up." He says, leaving a kiss on my forehead before leaving me alone in the room with Ashton.

Ashton was already making himself busy with putting his clothes in his small closet, while I moved on to the first stack of boxes on my side of the room.

We worked in silence for a while, trading awkward glances every once in a while before Ashton spoke up.

"What kind of music do you listen to?" He asks, trying to start up a conversation.

"The good stuff." I teased. "Green Day, All Time Low, Yellowcard, A Day to Remember, Nirvana, The Who, The Beatles, Coldplay, The Fray, Fall Out Boy, Panic! At The Disco, Foster the People, Young the Giant, The Misfits, Operation Ivy, Black Veil Brides, Pierce the veil, blah blah blah." I laugh. "I'd run out of breath trying to list ALL of my favorite bands."

"Then I think we'll get along in the music department." He laughs lightly, pulling out a few rolled up posters. "You don't mind me hanging these up, do you?" He asks, showing me a few posters, most including a few of the bands I had just named off.

"Not at all." I nod with a smile. "Do you snore?"

"I don't think so." He shrugs. "I think at least my little brother would have told me if I did."

"Oh, you have a brother?" I ask, interested in hearing about his family, to get to know him better, of course.

"Yep." He responded, popping the 'p'. "And a little sister, Harry and Lauren. Do you have any siblings?"

"Are y'all close?" I ask, before adding. "No, I'm an only child."

"Yeah, we're pretty close. I babysat them a lot while Mom worked." He responds, adding a All Time Low poster to the back of the door with thumb tacks while I put my clothes away in the small dresser provided.

"That's awesome." I sing-song, not really knowing how to respond.  "How did they feel about you leaving for school?"

"Mom cried, but I'm only an hour away, so I can visit whenever I want. Where are you from?"

"That's good, being so close to them." I say. "I'm from Georgia, so It would be quite the trip if I ever wanted to go home, but there is nothing there for me anymore." I regret adding the last part as Ashton looks over at me with a curious expression, so I quickly add. "I mean my only real friend is here with me, so that's all I really need." I laugh at the end, hoping to dissolve some of the awkwardness that seeped into the room.

"How long have you guys been friends?" He asks, letting the other topic drop.

"Since we were three. He sort of grew on me, the little nerd." I laugh. "He's like a brother to me. Like I would have zero social skills if he didn't exist."

"You have social skills?" He asks teasingly, letting out the most adorable fucking giggle I've ever heard in my entire life, literally. If there were a sound for the gates of heaven opening, it would be Ashton's giggle. The sound of his giggle makes me want to do everything I can to make him laugh, just so I can hear the sound all day, every day.

"I'm not a very social person." I shrug, finally able to speak after his adorableness.

"We'll work on it." He laughs again, and I feel my knees start to go weak.

"Many have tried, more have failed." I shrug, moving on to finding places for my books.

"What do you like to do, besides scaring complete strangers?" He questions, moving to help me unpack my books, seeing as he was already unpacked.

"I don't really know." I say after a long pause, trying to think about his question. "Luke and I listen to a lot of music, and play some ourselves, we watch movies, and play Mario Cart, and that's about it, I guess. I don't really have a lot of hobbies."

The next hour or so Ashton and I unpacked my boxes, learning as much as we could about each other, well as much as I was willing to tell him, anyways. I told him my favorite colors, my favourite movies, and the things I will and wont eat, while he told me about growing up in California and how his mom worked a lot when he was little. He told me his dad left when he was really young, so his mom struggled to pay the bills, much less bring food to the table. I found myself getting jealous of some of the stories we told me about him, his siblings, and his mom camping, shopping, or other normal things families did together. They didn't have money, but they had each other, and even in my family's "better" times, we never had that. Ashton asked me questions about my childhood and even my parents, but quickly moved on when I changed the subject, and for that I was thankful. He didn't push for information, and it was nice.

"We should go to the store." I suggested as we finish clearing the room of our empty boxes. "I want to get a mini fridge, and maybe one of those changing partitions so it's not awkward when we have to change in here. And I'm a snacker, so I need food."

        "Let's do it." Ashton nods.

"I'll drive." I say, grabbing my purse, keys, and sending Luke a quick text letting him know I'm leaving campus for a little bit.

So, I have to work all weekend, so I can't promise any updates, but I'm going to try my best.
