I put my phone on the bedside table before making my bed. I lay down on my bed but I wasn't sleepy. I couldn't help but remember the events from earlier. 'I do have a friend now,' I recalled his words. Hyungwon seemed like a cold and distant person but he was actually friendly. And that made me want to spend more time with him. He seemed kind of mysterious at first but I was getting to know him more.
I pulled the sheet over my face to try and go to sleep.
Hyungwon's POV-
I unlocked the door to my house and walked in. I took off my coat and put it on the couch before going to my office. I opened the door before closing it behind me. I looked over to the table where the watch I was working on was placed. I told myself that I should focus on work instead of anything else but I couldn't help but think about Y/N.
I felt nice when I was around her but I wasn't supposed to. It was surprising to me how I opened up to her so easily, I even called her my friend. It was good to have someone to talk to but I wasn't the one to experience that happiness and I knew that.
'What was I thinking? She has a life of her own while I'm just a slave of destiny. I'm not supposed to be with her. After all, I don't belong here.'
Kihyun's POV-
I looked at the time on my phone as I walked to University. It was still 8:30 so I was pretty early. I stuffed my phone back in my pocket but since I wasn't looking where I was going, I bumped into someone. I looked up to a man in front of me who had his back facing me. He turned around as he realised I bumped into him.
"I'm sorry. I should've been careful," I said.
"It's okay, It's kinda my fault too." He said smiling at me.
He was muscular but had a face that looked like a...baby. He looked like a bunny when he smiled though. [*Hint hint*] I excused myself and started walking again. The university was right in front of me so I walked in through the gate.
Y/N's POV-
I walked back home after a long, tiring day at the college and cafe. Mondays were always like this. The streets were quiet as I walked through the dimly lit path. The streets were wet and cold as it was raining earlier. I sighed as I walked to the apartment complex. When I arrived home, I went up the elevator and got off on the 7th floor.
I walked to my door and unlocked it. While doing so, I noticed some scratches around the keyhole. I frowned as I bent and inspected them carefully. It looked like scratches made by a pin or something. I turned the knob and opened the door.
I looked around the apartment. The lights were all off and everything looked pretty normal but I also saw some wet footprints around the apartment floor. My heart hammered against my chest and had a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach as I slowly walked in. The atmosphere was tense as my eyes darted across the living room.
As I was looking around, I noticed that the bedroom door was slightly ajar. I walked towards it but stopped when I saw something next to the door on the floor. I looked down to see pieces of shattered glass pushed to the corner. 'Someone was here,' I thought as I backed away from the door.
'And they're still here.' I slowly made my way back to the front door and stepped out. Just as I did, the bedroom door flung open and the 'mafia-like' people revealed themselves as they rushed toward me. I quickly turned around and ran as fast as I could.
I didn't bother taking the elevator and ran down the stairs. It would seem tiresome running down the stairs from the 7th floor to the ground floor if it wasn't for the adrenaline rushing through my nerves. My heartbeat was doubled by now as I made it to the ground floor in no time.
I ran out of the gate as the men walked out the elevator and chased me. I ran through the streets, bumping into people as I did. I just wanted to outrun them but where would I go after that? Changkyun's house was the best choice but I was running in the opposite direction of his house. And I can't take these people to his house and put him and Minhyuk in more danger than they already are.
Minhyuk's house wasn't safe either. 'What do I do now?' I thought. As I was running past an alleyway, a hand grabbed my wrist and pulled me into the alleyway. Another hand was pressed against my mouth, preventing me from screaming as I was crouched down beside a dustbin. I squirmed under their grip before looking up at the person.
My eyes widened as I saw Hyungwon crouched down to my left, beside the bin, looking at the men over it. When they passed by the alleyway, Hyungwon released me before standing up. I stood up as well.
"You ran into them?" He asked.
"No, they were in my house," I answered breathing heavily.
He frowned.
"How do they know where you live?" He asked.
"I don-" I cut my own words off when I realised something.
"Oh, shoot!" I said as I pulled my phone out.
I opened the website where I posted the photo of the watch.
"I posted a photo of the watch before you told me about it and put up my address and phone number with it," I said feeling like an idiot.
"You still didn't take it off?" He asked.
"No..." I replied looking down from the embarrassment.
'So that's where he got my number from,' I thought as Hyungwon seemed to know about it. I took the photo off the website and deleted my account too.
"Are you going to Changkyun's house now?" He asked.
"No, considering what they can do, if they follow me there, they both will be in danger," I said.
"Come with me then," He said before turning and walking deeper into the alleyway. I knew there was no arguing with him so I quietly followed him but stopped when something dawned on me.
"Hyungwon," I called out.
"What?" He asked turning to look at me.
"How do you know about Changkyun?" I asked.
He didn't say anything.
"I don't think I ever told you about him," I said.
He looked at the ground before turning around.
"That's not important right now. Just follow me," He said.
I frowned at him but followed him anyway. I couldn't help but think about it. Do they know each other? If they did, why would Hyungwon not want to tell me that? It was like the more I came to know about him, the more I felt like I didn't know him. He became more and more mysterious as I came closer to him.
