Nightmare raised a tendril and shot it towards the fire elemental restraining Fresh, coiling it around the other Monster's neck with unnatural speed and throwing him away in a display of raw strength.

Nightmare snarled as he moved to stand in front of Fresh, protecting him from further injury.

"Fresh, are you hurt?" Nightmare asked softly, turning towards the other.

Fresh shook his head with a weak smile. "J-just a bit banged-up," he said quietly. "Nothing too b-big."

Nightmare frowned. Fresh wasn't telling the whole truth. He was holding his left arm awkwardly, and his magical pulse was way too low to be healthy.

The tarry skeleton opened a portal to the hideout. "Go ask Horror for some healing supplies, at the very least. He'll make sure nothing gets infected."

The Undyne snapped angrily at them. "Hey, where are you punks going?! That little skeleton is OURS!"

Nightmare froze, staying completely still for a few seconds as he mustered his rage before turning around, cold fury in his single eye.

"Fresh is one of mine."

Fresh hurried through the portal, recognizing Nightmare's protective anger. The dark skeleton closed the portal safely behind his adopted son.. Normally, he would be worried about the witnesses telling what they saw to the Star Sanses, but. well...

They weren't going to escape with that information alive.

Nightmare slammed his arm against the wall, cracking and crumbling the bricks in an effortless display of terrifying strength.

"What did you do to Fresh?"

Nightmare's tone was dangerously quiet, promising pain that would be soon to come, and the other monsters seemed to realize that, edging towards the opening to the alleyway.

"Hey, we didn't know the midget was yours, aight? All we did was rough him up a bit! We'll leave him alone, Street Honor!" The Undyne sneered, but the nervousness was evident on her face.

"You sure will leave him alone," Nightmare rumbled lowly. "Can't do much abusing of innocent people if you're dead, hmm?"

That was too much for the dogs, and as one, they made a break for the main streets, abandoning their 'friends'. What cowardice.

Nightmare shot out two tentacles to snap around the dogs' fleeing forms as they tried to escape, breaking the neck of one, and the right leg of the other. He dragged them back over the streets before slamming them into the walls, watching their bodies bounce before thudding limply to the gravel and aphsalt on the floor.

The dog he had broken the neck of dusted on impact, which was dissapointing. But the one he had broken the leg of was still alive. Good. Maybe that one could spread the word once all of this was over. Nobody messed with one of HIS and got away with it.

The Undyne and Grillby were backed up against the opposite wall, shaking. Both were holding their magic attacks in their hands, balls of fire and glowing blue spears. Did they really think they stood a chance?

Pathetic.
