Liam grunted as he moved his leg from the window and slightly shook to get the rain off of him (he would've jumped but knowing which time of the day it is, he'd rather not face a cranky vampire) whilst delicately holding three boxes in his hand, safely dry from inside his jacket. He whooped mentally at the small success.

"Hey Ted, I brought you-"

And then he froze.

Sitting at the study desk placed by the shelf was none other than Theo Raeken, busily scribbling over a wide paper. Around him were piles and piles of books and papers, some opened and some crumpled, his whole body jerking in different directions as he moves to the beat of the music through his airpods, the lighting of his lamp shone only partly at the side of his face and yet, that's not what truly made Liam stop his tracks.

No, it's actually the peculiar thick, semi-round rimmed object that's perched around his eyes and on the bridge of his nose is what caught his attention and although he hasn't see it on Theo before, it perfectly suits him. Liam's holds the urge to let go of the boxes in his hand.

"Theo?"

There were no reactions from the other male aside from the continuous sit-dancing moves he's doing, and Liam knows that whatever he's listening to must've been loud so he just decided to remove his damp jacket and carried on downstairs to make some tea, him passing by the door went unnoticed to the chimera.

By the time the beta came back to the other's room, he was already bringing in two mugs of tea, the rain was still pouring outside and Theo was still on the desk but this time, he looks fully concentrated to the point that he might pop a vein from scribbling on the sheet too hard.

"Damn, what did the paper ever do to you?"

Theo jumped at finally hearing Liam's voice as he faced him with wide eyes.

"Liam! What- When did you get here?"

Liam smirked. "I went in like, not too long ago, by your window."

"Really?" He turned to his window with his face adorably pinched at it being slightly open. "I didn't notice."

"That's 'cause you're too busy showing dance moves with your chair." He couldn't help but giggle at the tint of pink that crept up to the older's face. "You looked like a worm."

"Oh, and you're any better?"

"I could be." He says with a wink which only earned a deadpanned look from the other and he let out another giggle.

Eventually, Theo noticed what Liam was holding and inhaled a wiff of its scent before meeting his eyes with a sparkle that made Liam's heart stutter.

"Is that peppermint?"

He gave the other mug to the chimera, who too-enthusiastically accepted it.

"Figured you'll need it so I bought some at a local store. And no, they're not by teabags, which is expensive by the way. Good thing Nadia was downstairs." 

"You bought expensive peppermint tea just for me? I'm touched, Dunbar."

Liam narrowed his eyes. "They're not only for you, you know."

Theo merely shrugged as he casually sips his tea with a smug face. "Whatever counts."

"Mhm." Liam took a sip of his. "So what were you up to?"

Theo glanced at his work, and it's as if he was reminded of something horrible, he groaned. The corners of Liam's mouth twitched.

"Just some skeleton illustration I was preparing. You know, in case."

Liam then focused on the thick frames around his eyes.

"I didn't know you wear glasses."

Theo grabbed his glasses on reflex, hitting his eye on the process and the red on his cheeks reappeared, only darker.

"Shut up, it makes me feel cool."

And there goes Liam's well-hidden (not) smile.

Obviously, Theo didn't hear it and the beta couldn't be any relieved.

He can't help it, his heart throbbed once more.
