Lily Hannah Rebecca D’alitiore 1864-2012
The term “vampire” usually conjures up pictures of evil creatures that kill for the fun of it. But Lily was never one of those monsters. She was one of the good ones. She killed people who wanted to be put out of their misery, who were in pain, or who didn’t want to live anymore. Lily showed us that “even though you were meant to be evil, don’t mean you have to live up to it” Lily had been through thick and thin, getting herself into all kinds of trouble. Lily had been captured, tortured and many other horrible things, all because she crossed the wrong people.
That was how her life was cruelly ended; she was killed by someone she crossed.
Lily was born in Italy in 1864; she was the only daughter but the twelfth child of Mary and John D’alitiore. As she was the only girl, her father would make her stay at home and help her mother with things for the apothecary. Then she would return to help with the evening meal for when her brothers and father would return home from slaving away on the fields.
When she was seventeen, she met Damon. He was a respected member of the community and every girl was trying to win his attentions. But he only had his eye on one girl and that was Lily. Damon and Lily were married in the Basilica of Santa Croce, Florence on 24th December 1881. “It was one of the biggest weddings in the whole of Florence, it was beautiful. Damon and Lily looked so happy together that day.” said Mr Bartolinni, who attended the wedding.
In a year of being married, Lily gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Scarlett-Rose Blossom Williamson. She was born on 22nd January 1882. Unfortunately Scarlett-Rose died when she was 11 due to an illness she picked up in the town. They couldn’t do anything for her, but she passed away happily in the family home surrounded by family and friends.
“Lily was distraught about losing little Scarlett-Rose” Damon could do nothing for Lily, she was so sad about losing her only baby girl.
The secret that Damon was hiding was something that he never wanted to tell anyone, but he thought that he could help his wife. Also this way he could be with her forever. “She was so sad when we lost our daughter, I thought turning her would make her happy again and we could be together forever” Damon said in an interview about his baby girl in 1893.
The next time Lily Williamson was seen again was in May 1920, she was seen in Chicago with a young man and woman going into Belle’s Bar. There was no activity until there was a police raid on the bar and a tall man went into the bar and came out with the young couple that Lily had entered the bar with and the next thing we knew they were vervained and staked.
Lily was never seen again until her body was found in an old warehouse in London. It looked as if she had been drained of blood and murdered. Even though a vampire she was still easy to kill, by staking her with a wooden stake, but there was no stake found in her or at the scene.
“During the investigation, we found some finger prints at the scene, on the door handle to the warehouse to be exact, and we found out that they belonged to a Mr Liam Wells. The only thing is that this particular Liam Wells, well… he was killed in 2000” Said Chief superintendent Geoffrey Hughes, who was leading the investigation.
So Liam Wells was killed in 2000, which could mean that Lily was killed by another vampire. It was clear that Lily had turned Liam as there was a picture of them together in the late 1990’s. But what did Liam have against this innocent looking young woman?
Liam Wells had a twin called Alexander, they had met Lily at a party and sadly both boys fell in love with this deadly woman. “Young Alexander and Liam were fighting over this Lily you speak of all night, I saw that Lily had left with both boys and I had no idea it would escalate to a death. In my mind, young Liam would be better with Lily as all I can see around Alexander is darkness” Said Jonathan Michaelson, who was at the party at the same time Lily, Alexander and Liam was.
In the end, they managed to capture and arrest Liam Wells and charge him with the murder of Lily D’alitiore. Even though she was a vampire, doesn’t mean she was a bad one.
This was the one vampire that didn’t want to let her humanity go.
