Part Four:

As it would turn out Aimee got bailed out of jail and called her lawyer to get the ball rolling. She was still insistent that Carter had kidnapped the children and taken them to a place unknown to her. When in reality she knew where they were and she let them go. Maci had gotten her lawyer involved as well. The case to follow was sure to be a nasty  one.

“Why wont she just let you spend time with your children?” Maci asked Carter as they made their way to the court house.

“I don’t know, she has a complex where she always has to be in control and cant let things go!” Carter retorted.

Maci could tell that Carter was upset and dropped the issue.  Jenna and Adam sat quietly in the back seat worried about what would happen next. As they approached the court house the press was already there and looking for a story.

Maci’s security guards were there and handling them. Carter was suddenly confused as to why the press would be there because this wasn’t a big case. Little did Carter know who Maci really was.

Cameras flashed as they entered the building and Maci was quickly apologetic for the scene outside. Carter, Jenna and Adam were all thinking the same thing. “What just happened”

Jenna and Adam were taken to a room to “play” while the adults all gathered in court room three.

Maci and Carter took their places and on the other side of the court room stood Aimee and her lawyer. Maci quickly recognized him as Paul Johnson, world renowned  lawyer and foe of her company. He had gone up against Maci in a civil case a few years back and at that time told her that he would do anything to bring her down. “oh Great” Maci said under her breath. Carter looking confused asked who he was and why Maci had that look on her face. Maci opened her mouth to speak just as the bailiff said all rise.

As the hearing progressed it was proven that Aimee was unstable and she didn’t have a leg to stand on when it came to the false accusations that she had originally claimed.

Not being able to come to an agreement the judge placed temporary custody to Maci.

Maci was confused by this and asked “why me?”

The judge said “the children respect you and have come to love you in the past few days, while their parents continue to have this pity fight over what happened, the children will be placed in your custody and will remain with you for at least six months.”

And with that he slammed the gavel down and that was that.
