It sucks to be the new kid. You have to meet new people and adjust to the new place. I don't like having the attention on me. But, I have no other choice but to put up with it and go in with a fake smile on my pale face.
I got dressed in blue denim skinny jeans, toms, a white tank, a black hoodie and a reddish, black scarf. I grabbed my backpack and car keys and walked downstairs. "Bye, Sammy" I took a Starbucks drink. "Bye. Have a good day! Meet new people!" I walked out the door and sighed heavily. "Like that's going to happen" I whispered. I threw my head back and unlocked my car and got in. I put my bag in the passenger seat and started it up. My "Homesick" CD began playing. I skipped to 'My Life For Hire' and drove off.
I turned into the school and found a parking space closest to the office. George Jenkins Senior High. I turned off my car, grabbed my bag, got out and locked it. Senior Year, here I come.
The bell doesn't ring until 6:56. It's 6:15 currently. I walked through the double doors of the office and stood at the desk. "Goodmorning. How can I help you?" The lady said with a smile. "Good Morning. Uh yes, it's my first day here and I was wondering what information I needed" I pulled out my ID. "Well, welcome to George Jenkins. What year will you be graduating?" She handed me a parking pass, online course registration, and an emergency contact information. I put the in my bag. "I will be graduation in 2010. So, in about a year." I smiled. "Awesome. Here's your senior year information and I will get a schedule for you." I nodded and sat down at the row of chairs and began to fill out my information.
"What's your name?" She asked me, across the room. "Ryan Scott" I responded. She walked over and handed me my schedule. I gave her the forms. "Thank you. I'll have Kevin show you around okay?" I nodded and stood up. "Hey, Kevin? Can you help show this lovely lady around to her classes?" I heard her say. Who I suppose is Kevin, came out of the back room and into the front. My eyes locked with his. "Hey, I'm Kevin" He shook my hand. I smiled. "Hi, I'm Ryan" I gave him my schedule. A smile grew on his face. "We have every class together." He handed it back and I put it in my bag. "1st period starts in five minutes. We might as well go." We left and went to building 2.
"Mr. Murphy, this is Ryan. She's new." I felt Kevin place his hand on my back. I blushed a little. "Hi Ryan. Welcome to Jenkins. Sit where you'd like." We shook hands. I sat next to Kevin. "So, tell me something." He whispered. I looked up from my phone and looked at him. "Uhm, like what?" I asked. "You." He nudged my arm. "Well, I'm Ryan, 18 and play bass. I also draw and dance. There's not much to me." "Well, you seem interesting. What music do you fancy?" He smirked. "Uh, alternative, indie, punk, rock, electronic, metal" I shrugged. "I like you. You don't follow the standards of Chicago" I was confused. What does that mean?
The day was over. Kevin and I stood by my car and talked. "So, my band is having practice at my place. Would you like to come?" I bit my lip and smiled. "yeah, sure. What's your number?" I asked. he put his number in my phone and I put mine in his. "I'll text you, okay?" I nodded then got in my car and drove off. Finally made a friend.
