"Bubba, I wanna go to the park. Let's go!" I yelled. "Hold on, chipmunk. I'm stepping into my shoes now." Midnight replied. A few minutes later, he comes flying down the stairs and pulls me into his arms. "Aight. We can go now, gorgeous." He states and drags me out the house. We literally skip, hand in hand, to the park. "I'm gonna swing from the chandelier! From the chandelier! And I'm gonna fly!" I sang off key to 'Chandelier' as he watched me, his eyes holding nothing but adoration.

"Why you gotta leave? I'm gonna be lonely." He says as I pack my bag. I was going on a college visit and Midnight was distraught. "I'm only gonna be gone for a couple weeks. You'll be fine." "No, I won't. I can't live without you. I'll die." He replies all dramatically, falling out on my bed. I laugh and kiss him lightly. "You gotta suck it up. I'll be back before your birthday."

"Step, step, side to side. Round and round. Dip it down. Separate, bring it back and lemme see you do the love slide." R. Kelly's 'Step in the Name of Love' was playing at Homecoming as Midnight and I followed the instructions. He wrapped his arms around my waist and whispered in my ear, "You know I love you, right?" I smiled and tilted my head back to kiss his lips. "Yea. And I love you too."

"Come to the park." Midnight says into the phone, voice shaky and nervous. "Ok. I'll be there in 10." I reply and hang up. I slip into my shoes and then walk out the house. I swing my keys in the silence of the night as I gaze at the sky. Tonight was unusually pretty. It was a full moon, hanging close to the earth and the stars were brighter than I've ever seen before. As the park comes into view, I see Midnight sitting on our bench. I couldn't get out the word 'hi' before he pulls me into a deep kiss. Deeper than any of the ones we've had before. I thought he had something really imperative to tell me. I guess, depends on how you look at it, he did. "Aphinity, you are my pride and joy. I love you more than anything. But ... I uh ... My older sister wants me to break up with you." "The fuck? Why?" "She didn't give a specific reason but ... And I hate to do it ... I gotta let you go." He says and I sit there, looking. "Are you fucking kidding me?! I gave you two fucking years and you just up and leave me cause your sister says so?! You fucking fucknut!" "Aphinity, I'm sorry!" "Fuck that shit, Midnight!" I say and walk away. He let me go because of his sister. That's a new breed of stupid.
