They sat there in eachother embrace until it was time for arlo to go to work.
After Arlo left nadia got up and got a bowl of cereal. She went into her room and checked the group chat

Tyon: guys everything is sorted out. We told our dad and he told us the suspect was caught. The cops aren't interested in us
Joy : that's amazing! I was really scared. What happened today wasn't a joke situation
Kyon: my dad said it was dumb to run because that makes up look suspicious but he understood why we did it
Joy: i still feel like running was the best choice.

Nadia went to go check her personal messages
Text messages
Joy: hey you didn't call me afterwards just wanted to make sure you're good
Joy: are you okay? I know today was hectic but just give me a text back
Joy: did you read the gc messages? We're off the hook! He don't have to leave the country😂 but seriously. Text me back when you see this.
Text messages over
"Fuck I should text her back. She seems worried" she thought
Nadia: I'm sorry joy. I came home and just slept all day. Probably because the situation just scared me too much 😰
"Fuck I feel terrible. I'm not lying to her. I'm just keeping away a part of the reason. Its not lying" Nadia thought
She sat back and watched early TV
17 minutes later
Text messages
Joy: it's okay I just wanted to make sure you're ok.
Joy: actually can i call you? I just want someone to talk to.
Nadia: yea
Incoming FaceTime
Nadia answers
"Hey" Joy said with a shaky voice
"Hey. Are you okay?" Nadia asked
"Yea I'm just having a hard time sleeping. I need someone to distract me."
They spent the next two hours just talking about random things and making eachother laugh.
"Are you tired?" Nadia asked
"Yea I haven't slept since yesterday" Joy said
"So when we went outside you were up for 12 hours already? "
"Yea"
"Why?"
Joy paused
"I dont know. Just wanted to test out my perseverance or some shit like that."
"That's dumb but next time let me know so I can do it too"
"Yea but ill probably win. I've been doing this shit for a long time"
"Go to sleep Joy. Its been almost 48 hours"
"Okay but don't hang up"
"Okay"
20 minutes later Joy was sleep. Nadia looked at the phone and smiled. She took multiple screenshots.
She texted the groupchat
Nadia: Are we still on for camping on Friday?
Kyon: yea
Tyon: yup
Nadia: bettt
Kyon: where's joy? Shes usually first to respond
Nadia: shes sleep
