August 27th: Tuesday

Life so far in Arizona has been...

adventurous.

"LEVSSSS!" Everleigh shouts, waking me up and I roll over, looking at my phone.

7am.

"Woah. Good morning idiots." I grumble.

"She took my phone."

"It's not like you have a boyfriend!" Leva exclaims and Everleigh is rather quiet. "Do you?!"

"Give me my phone!" Everleigh groans before body slamming onto Leva.

I sigh, climbing out of bed and grabbing my glasses before making my way to the kitchen to make coffee. Everleigh eventually got her phone back and Leva was running late for a morning breakfast date with Deanna.

If someone asked me to describe what life with them is like... It's something. Everleigh is a laid back, chill, the one to go to advice for, and second oldest. She keeps us in tact and has us all going on schedule. She tends to hide a lot from Leva and I and she will always be down for an adventure. Leva is the oldest. She's the wild one; usually screaming showtunes, knows musicals word for word, full of adventures, ability to break out in random singing, and all full of joy. Me on the other hand, I'm the crazy one. I spend most my time playing basketball but when it comes to Leva and Everleigh, they're my best friends now matter what.

Everleigh left to go out before she went to class so it was just Leva and I chilling in the dorm. While Leva was showering, I changed from my sweaty pajamas to black ripped jeans with a white cropped tank top. I grab my backpack, laptop, airpods and phone along with my coffee and left for class. By now, it's 7:50am and my first class is at 9. It was a ten minute walk normally but I wanted Dutch Bros before hand. When I got to Dutch, I ordered another coffee and a snack then head back towards campus. When I got to campus, it was 8:26. Class still had about 30 minutes so I sit out on the lawn and I'm approached by these 3 girls.

"Carmody?" The one blonde asks and I nod, being quiet. "I'm Sammi."

"Everleigh!" I shout, opening the creaky door and she's sitting on her bed, doing homework.

I sigh, deciding to let her focus and I go to the fridge, using our magnetic letters, like the ones you'd buy for kids, to inform her that I'm going out for a bit. I grab a tank top and running shorts before heading to the bathroom to change. I changed from my Vans to sneakers before grabbing a small bag of chips as I left. Leva had classes until 3 so she wouldn't be home until later. I head to the car and throw my bag in the passengers seat as I climb in.

Leva Dellena:
I hate class. whatcha y'all doing?

Everleigh McDougall:
Doing homework. Carm, were you home earlier?

Carmody Andersson:
Yeah. I'm going to Daley Park to shoot some hoops.

Everleigh McDougall:
Okay sounds good.

I sigh, connecting my phone to the bluetooth and play some music. It's a nice day here in Arizona. I do miss home. I mean, I've been there since I was 12; lived from Sweden before coming to America. I attended Troy High with Everleigh and Leva from 6th grade til 11th when I moved to Florida for a year to attend boarding school at IMG Academy. Throughout the journey, they were the only two who stuck by side aside from my friends Kate and Clare but they're both 24 and living on their own; not in college at 20 like when I was a teenager.

Everleigh was born in Michigan but moved to New York when she was four. Apparently when I moved here, Leva found out right away and forced Everleigh to let me hang out with them. Being from Sweden, I barely knew English and they were helpful with helping me learn English. I never taught them Swedish...

I guess this will be fun..

"Varför skulle han göra det? Kör bara med den tik! Han gör mig sjuk!" I shout, pacing throughout the room as Everleigh and Leva just sat on their beds.

"Do you know what she's saying?" Everleigh mumbles.

"No idea."

"Jag hatar pojkat! Vad är poängen! Jag hatar män! De suger! Jag kanskr bara kommer att fackls hans hus! Jag fykler hans bill med glitter!" I continue.

"The accent is not helping her," Everleigh sighs.

"Carms, you ok?"

I freeze, staring at her before yelling, "Din kusi. lurade på mig igen! Det här var inte första gången! Han är en sådan kuk och jag hoppas att du vet hur självis han egentilgen är!"

They sit there silently and I sit down on the ground, knees to my chest and I start sobbing. James had been my guy. When I promised Leva I wouldn't go back to him, I swore. I broke it. She made me promise because her and Everleigh had seen me through enough hurt and they didn't want to see me like this again. They both come hug me and I just cry even more.

I didn't have the heart to tell Leva he broke my heart again; she'd get more mad at him then before. She'd be mad at me for going back to him. She'd be mad at Everleigh for keeping it a secret.

Everleigh and Leva hug me tighter and don't let go, even after there's a knock on the door. Leva gets up to answer it.

"Hey Leva, you left this in class this afternoon." A girl with red hair smiles, handing her a textbook and Leva smiles.

"Thank you, Anne!"

"No problem!"

She comes back over and hugs me tighter. Separating us from Everleigh, she places her hands on my shoulders after wiping my tears from my eyes.

"You have always been the stronger person. He clearly doesn't deserve you."

But what if it was my fault?

A secret of mine they don't know?

How do I tell them?

but importantly...

when?
