Chapter 4

He makes you breakfast in bed

It was about eight in the morning when I heard banging and slamming in the kitchen. I groaned, looking around my room and then gasping when I didn’t see Matt anywhere. Throwing myself out of bed, I haphazardly threw on my piggy slippers and ran down the hallway to the kitchen.

“Matt?” I whispered as I took in the image before me; Matt in a cute pink and frilly apron stirring something around in a silver pot over the stove, while humming. “Kelly! You are supposed to be in bed, baby, I’m making you breakfast in bed,” He purred as he brought me in for a hug. “You look stunning.” He gasped as he looked deeply into my eyes. “Matt. I just woke up. This is not stunning.” I hissed as he fretted about me asking me stupid questions like, “Is it too hot for you?” or “Is it too cold?” and lets not forget “Do you need a foot massage?”

After he finished up making the blueberry pancakes and dished up toast and some orange juice, he escorted me back to my room and tucked me in bed. All I could do was eat the food he’d made me and try to ignore the love sick glint in his eye. “Didn’t my parents see you?” I asked, chewing loudly on my food. Nope. Not even my chomping annoyed this man. “No, I made sure they had left before I went out. I wouldn’t want to distress you.” He frowned with puppy dog eyes as if he was imagining me unhappy. I lifted an eyebrow as he took away my used dishes and promptly ran off to the kitchen to wash them.

This was going to be a long day.

Matt had the brilliant idea to take me to the movies later that afternoon, and he was the perfect gentleman: My doors were opened, my hand was held and my wants were all paid for by him. Matt had even chosen a chick flick and bought me more chocolate than I could ever eat. “Do you want some popcorn too sweetheart?” He smiled at me as the cashier; an awe-struck teenage girl gaped at him. “No.” I mumbled from behind a stack of chocolate and other cinema-style goodies. He merely grinned and ordered some pop corn with extra butter.

“You are so lucky.” The cashier girl cried as she held a hand to her heart and smiled at Matt. “No,” Matt paused and looked me in the eyes, deeply. Then he grinned a 1000 watt smile and said: “No, I’m the lucky one.” I swear the cashier fainted from a mix of jealousy and girly jelly bean emotions.

I, on the other hand was feeling more and more like a teenage dark cloud of grumbling. It was all my fault such an inhuman thing came to life; I had been the one to wish on a star. So I would have to face my punishment without complaint. It would be quite difficult, I mused, half sarcastic as Matt gleamed down on me while we sat down in our plush red seats and readied for the movie.

By the time the credits rolled, Matt was almost crying. I patted his hand as I mumbled a ‘there, there’ every two minutes or so. “I just can’t believe she didn’t love him after all of that… I can’t believe she ran off with the cheese maker!” His full, succulent bottom lip quivered and I was suddenly hit by desire. Jeez. Was I the man in this relationship? I wondered as I ignored every word Matt was saying and focused only on his body. His muscular chest and arms, full lips, shiny hair and bright blue eyes were all mine, I slowly grinned as I patted his arm some more. “Kelly?” I heard him say as I waved away my thoughts. “Yes Matt?” I smiled in an attempt to be nicer to him. After all, he was a sweet guy, crazy or not. “Are you okay? You were nodding your head and smiling like a pervert just before,” His brow twisted as he looked me over. “You were humming, bow chika wow wow too for some reason.” He cocked his head at me.

“It was nothing.” I hastily said as a blush settled in my cheeks. He didn’t seem too convinced as I quickly pulled him along out of the movie theater. Just as we were at the glassy front doors I heard a high pitch squeal “Kelly girl!” I groaned as I was suddenly hit by the aroma of strawberries and skank. “Hi, Trisha didn’t notice you there.” I smiled tightly as she ran towards me- or rather, Matt. “Oh and who is this?” She grinned a coy little curve as she neared him inch by inch. “Matt Starr,” he smiled at her in a state of total cluelessness to Trisha’s intentions.

“Trisha, hell, what’s with the running?” A cool and slightly annoyed voice rang out and a new figure suddenly appeared. “Oh, Blake-y I was just saying hi to Kelly over there,” She pointed a pink talon disinterestedly as she continued chatting up Matt. She was asking him his horoscope and was rambling on about the blue moon. See, Trisha was your class A teen skank, but she was incredibly gifted in math, science and had picked up some mumbo jumbo about horoscopes and planets recently. I was about to grab Matt and dash, when I smelled the familiar cologne of Blake Rantos. Ah, that was the Blake Trisha was referring to. I slowly turned around to face the almighty Blake himself. “Looks like your little genius picked up a new toy,” I smirked as Blake sneered down at me. “Well, if it isn’t Kelly. How’d you manage to pick up that guy? Are you paying him?” He lifted a brow as I recoiled.

“For your information no,” I silently said as I pulled my jacket tighter around me. I looked over at Matt, who was still talking with Trish. Looking over at Blake again I recalled all the years I’d known him. Since first grade and he still hadn’t changed at all. Still good looking, still cocky, and still mean. He’d never liked me, ever. Come to think of it, he didn’t like a lot of people, making me feel mystified over why he was such a popular guy. I mean, you wouldn’t cling to someone over just looks, right? “Matt just really likes me.” I sweetly said as Blake’s date practically stripped for Matt.

Nearing Blake, I closed in on his ear and tried to ignore the spice of his cologne. “If I were you I wouldn’t insult someone when my date is almost giving another man a lap dance,” I patted his arm, trying to ignore the feeling curling up my arm. Blake vibrated with a power that was suddenly becoming very attractive. “I suggest you get Trisha and put her back on her leash.” I finished up as I curled an arm around Matt’s middle and said a quick goodbye to Trish. Pulling Matt into my embrace, he seemed shocked for a moment but quickly tightened his grip and toothily smiled like a five year old.

Matt was so sweet, I thought sadly.

Well um... Yea not sure what I'm doing still updating but I was feeling nostalgic. I really want to get back into writing. I'm sorry if this chapter is off I just have to start somewhere. It's difficult to write something and then come back to it months later. My inspiration changes, life changes, and style changes. I hope at least one or two people are happy with this update. Sorry I've been so sucky this past year, but I'm trying to update more now :)
