CHAPTER TEN

'Rotting flesh'
BLOOD SHARING. It was one, of the most intimate of things that could be done. It required a level of trust on both ends, and trust was not something that came easily for a Mikaelson. Nor a Morningstar. Although as both parties seemed to realize, trust with each other had become easy. This fact itself was incredibly daunting to the youngest Mikaelson.
Nothing was ever simple or easy in her life, so she couldn't help but wait for the other shoe to drop. For something to come and mess everything up.
"Come on, Darling. Chip chop lets go," Lucifer spoke from beside her. Dragging her out of her thoughts. They were now back in Los Angeles. The duo could have stayed longer in Mystic Falls, although when Stefan stole the coffins Arabella figured it would be better if she and Lucifer weren't there. Stefan was already angry that 2 originals were in town, but finding out the devil was as well he had 'requested' them to leave or he would dump Elijah in the Atlantic.
Usually, Arabella would never be someone to run, but Stefan had all the power at the moment and she couldn't put her family at risk. If she and Lucifer stayed, there was no doubt that emotionless Stefan would dump her Father into the bottom of the ocean.
"How exactly did you convince the lieutenant to allow you to work on cases?" Arabella questioned Lucifer as they entered the precinct. Somehow Lucifer was now a 'civilian consultant' who would be working with Arabella and Chloe, something Chloe was less than happy about. Although Arabella didn't mind much, he'd keep the day interesting.
"I simply offered her a favor, she gets what she wants. I get what I want," Lucifer explained simply. A proud smirk upturning on his face.
"Did you sleep with her?" Arabella couldn't help but question him. After all, it would be a very 'Lucifer' thing to do.
"Of course not," Lucifer laughed out although the accusation itself was crazy. His words earned a confused look from Arabella. She had met the lieutenant, she knew that if Lucifer offered sex she would allow him to do whatever he pleased. So why didn't he?
"Bella, there's a case," Arabella suddenly heard Chloe speak from behind her. Causing her to turn around to meet her eye, nodding at her slightly. Following behind her as she walked over to her desk, Lucifer walked along beside her.
"There's a dead security guard," Chloe told Arabella. Ignoring Lucifer as though he wasn't there. The blond detective now stood behind her desk, digging through paperwork for a moment before handing Arabella a small brown file.
"Hello, detective," Lucifer greeted Chloe from beside his brunette companion. Weaving his hand playfully, fully aware that the detective was ignoring him on purpose.
