(Hope you enjoy!) (This is when he was younger! Next chapter will skip forward to his age!)

They're so beautiful.

I watch as the other twelve year old girls stretch their legs up high above their heads. The way they moved fluently, almost natural. As they danced my heart squeezed with want. I wanted to do that. If I could. "Teacher! There's a boy watching us!" Crap....closing my eyes, I duck under the window as fast as I could. Hopefully they didn't see me.

Sitting there with my heart beating fast I hear the door open. A tall lady with large brown eyes smiles down at me, and I blushed, "do you want to try?"

"....can I?" She wants me to dance. She nods and I smiled, "yeah!"

Dropping my comic book on the floor I dash into a room full of girls my age. "Hi!" I smiled and they all looked at each other; however, they eventually smiled back at me so that made me happy. "What do I do?"

"Let's see how flexible you are. Put your hand on the barre." I turn towards the pole looking thing and grabbed it with a firm look on my face. "Now, give me your right leg." I nod. "Okay, I'm lifting your leg. Tell me when it hurts." Again, I nod.

When she lifted my leg I couldn't help but wince. The pain is horrible. I'll just deal with it, though. "...oh....you're extremely flexible. Does this not hurt?" Giggling, the girls start surrounding me.

"Yes ma'am, it does hurt."

"Oh-why didn't you tell me?" She slowly starts to lift my leg back down with a worry expression.

With a smile, I shrugged. "I could handle the pain. If that's what I have to do, I'll do it." I fist bumped the air and the girls giggled, making me blush in embarrassment. What did I do?

"...that's....amazing..." that's when I really looked at the teacher. "What's your name?"

"Everest Swan," I smiled, and she smiles back.

"That's a beautiful name, for a beautiful little boy."

Her eyes gazed into my own. The sparkle in her eyes that day was undeniable. She knew my love for ballet before I even knew it.

Later on that day she'd talked to my mom. My mom was absolutely shocked. My new found love for ballet surprised everyone in my family, mainly because there has never been a dancer in our family before. Later on that day mom went on to talk to dad about my new found love, how the teacher wanted me to join her classes, and how much the cost would be if I were to participate-you see, we weren't the richest family in the world. My dad was kinda iffy about it.

But if it made me happy, he would do anything for me. So, he had to taken three jobs. I obviously didn't know about it, so when they told me I could become a ballerino, I was ecstatic, and surprised. But a lot of things changed from the day on....

I couldn't hang out with my friends that much anymore. If I were going to be a ballet dancer, I would have to put all my free time into dancing. My friends were upset at first. They didn't want me to abandon them.

But I didn't.

We still see each other at school. We were still friends.

Eventually they understood. They all did.

The next one was my diet. I had to eat a lot of eggs, boiled chicken (with no skin) and tuna. There's more, but I won't get into details.

I'd also stopped reading. Even though I loved it with a passion, my parents told me all my focus had to be on ballet.

So I stopped.

My whole life surrounds around ballet now.

Walking into the classroom, the girls all smile at me. "Everest! Over here! Put these on," handing me a pair of ballet slippers, she giggles. "While you were changing, your mom dropped these off. She forgot to give you these."
