Legosi entered the garden. It was early in the morning, and he just wanted to take a morning stroll. After everything that had happened last night, he decided that he would take a laid back day and just enjoy himself.
Walking past the roses reminded him of Juno, the red flowers imitating her scent. He walked to the storage shed, about to knock on the glass door when suddenly, the curtains flung open, and Louis stood before him. They were both surprised to see each other.
"Oh... Hey Louis. Is Haru here?" The awkward wolf asked. The deer's cold exterior broke apart for a second, showing a nervous wreck just below the surface. He quickly straightened himself out, looking back at him with a calculated gaze.
"Uh- no, no, she's not. She's probably in her dorm. What do you want?" Legosi scratched his head, his claws noticeable enough to irritate Louis, but not enough to get him to react.
"Oh... well, I wanted to take a rose with me... you know... for Juno."
"Ah, I see."
"I was just hoping that it would be alright with Haru for me to take one."
"I'm sure it'll be alright. If not, I'll tell her that it was I who let you."
"Really? Thank you! It means a lot."
"I'm sure it does."
"Well, uh... I'll be off then. Bye."
Louis gave an internal sigh of relief. Took him long enough...
"Hey, Louis, what are you doing here anyway?"
What the heck?! Just leave already damn it...
"Well, the Gardening Club is participating in the festival, just like us. It's my duty as a third-year to make sure she's attending, so we're well acquainted."
"Makes sense to me. See ya," and with a final wave, Legosi left to find a rose.
Jeez... I was starting to think he'd never leave...
After having picked out a rose, he went to Drama Club and changed into his tracksuit. Not having much to do, he went ahead and adjusted the lights again, rechecking to see if they were aligned properly.
Looking into the large mirror along the wall made him realize that he had grown again. On any other day, he would have likely been slouched over, feeling all depressed as usual, but today he stood tall, not hunching at all. He looked over himself, his fur was more intense than he remembered. Was his happiness so powerful that it even affected him physically?
Legosi laid down, closing his eyes, the bright lights shining on his eyelids, leaving his vision a dark reddish-orange. He slowly exhaled, relaxing every muscle. His hand glided into his pocket, the sweet smell of the rose filling his mind as he brought it to his chest.
Suddenly his vision got darker as the smell intensified. Opening his eyes, he saw Juno standing above him, her beautiful eyes affixed to his. He sat up, and they kissed, the warmth traveling into his hand, still tightly clenched around the rose. When they separated, he handed it to her.
"I went up to the gardens today... And I thought I'd bring back the flower that reminded me the most of you." Legosi's words made her think. She adored his earthy scent. The idea that her scent reminded him of roses made her fall even more for him. For the next few moments, they laid together, together with their earth and rose scents.
It was awfully poetic. Roses grew upon the Earth, and the Earth would be sad and lifeless without flowers that grew upon it. But roses can't grow without earth.
