Chapter 3

I walked outside, cautious about where to head off next. I dive into the forest, and overhear the ghosts plan. "The kid knows" one of the Ghosts said. " We mustn't tell the Ghosts of Law about this" another one said. " Right" the last one said. I gasp, a little too loudly and the ghosts turn. " It's him" one ghost said. "KILL HIM" one roared. But none of the ghosts listened.

In fact they all gasped and disappear. " Excuse me young man but what are you doing in the forest this late at night", a man said. I turn around it was the chief. I said, " just taking a hike". The chief gave me a suspicious one over and said," You better head back home". "Yeah", I said," I should". I said goodbye to the chief. As I walked backed home I thought to myself, who were the ghosts of law". But right now, I just focused on getting home. My parents were there. They were on the couch watching TV. "Did you get in trouble today", my dad said, reaching for the phone. "No I didn't" I said defiantly. "Well ok, my dad said. "Robert just leave him alone" my mom said, sighing. I went to my room, and plopped on my bed. I soon went to sleep.

When I woke up, it was pitch black outside and it was cold. I got out of bed, I grabbed my flashlight and left the house. "This is my chance", I thought. I dove into the woods. The same ghost was waiting for me. It looked at me with sad,mourning eyes. " Some kids just never learn", he moaned . I walked past the ghost without a second thought. I grabbed my flashlight and went to the spot where a ghost I once saw were I clicked it on to my surprise they were not three ghosts there but five this time however I managed not to scream. I crouched down next to a bush and listened to the conversation. "This boy has been watching us for too long", said one ghost. I agree but we can't get rid of him because the law of the ghost,said another. "We must be cautious said", third ghost otherwise the boy might hear us again".

The fourth ghost remained quiet I can sense its presence staring at me but for some unknown reason it said nothing. "We must act now",the fifth ghost "otherwise he might tell others in our secrets will be revealed". "And who is going to believe him", said the biggest one. All all ghosts nodded their heads. Finally the fourth ghost yelled," the boy he is listening".
I turned around and saw the ghost of no return. He smiled at me with the sinister grin and said "well well guess who came back". Before I could even run five of the ghosts I had saw grabbed me and hold me still. I tried screaming,I tried saying anything that might save me but alas the ghost cold and death grip closed my mouth.
Now I knew the reason why they called him that ghost of. no return.

I then remembered I had a secret weapon. I reached into my pocket and pulled out a pocket knife. The ghost laughed and sneered, "we're ghost what can you do with us with a pocket". knife. I quickly stabbed into the first ghost with the pocket knife. The first ghost I had stabbed with it quickly evaporated before my eyes.

The biggest one wailed while the others were distracted I picked up my pocket knife and ran back to my house. I panted.when I soon got home my parents were already asleep on the couch. I climb into my bed pulled my blanket over me and fell asleep ,but I knew from that day on I would have to go back I would have to finish what I had started.
