I lay on my bed in thought.

(About three things I was absolutely sure of. First, Edward's a vampire. Second, there was a part of him, and I didn't know how dominate that part might be, that thirsted for my blood. And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.)

A car horn beeped outside and I checked who it was. I smiled to see Edward and so I hurried to get dressed for the day.

We drove to school, once there Edward parks the car, and gets out to open car door on my side. When I was out of the car, I noticed a lot of people staring at us. Edward and I began to walk towards the school, "Wow. You know, everybody's staring." Everyone sorta cleared a path for us and just stared. Edward low-key pointed at a guy, "Not that guy. No, he just looked. I'm breaking all the rules now anyway. Since I'm going to hell." He put his arm over my shoulders as we were walking. I chuckled, "I don't really believe in hell, but I do believe in demons."

I asked as were climbing down rocks, "So, does a person have to be dying to become like you?"

"No, that's just Carlisle. He'd never do this to someone who has another choice."

"So, how long have you been like this?"

"Since 1918. That's when Carlisle found me dying of Spanish influenza."

"What was it like?"

"The venom was excruciating. But what Carlisle did was much harder. Not many of us have the restraint to do that."

Rain has come pouring down on us, so we took refuge under a tree, "But didn't he just have to bite?"

"Not exactly. When we taste human blood, a sort of frenzy begins, and it's almost impossible to stop. But Carlisle did. First with me and then his wife, Esme."
