The Wonderful Story of the Lyling Family

Chapter 8: The Hypocritical Golden Wheat

This next part is about Lyling history. Ancient history.

Long, long ago in the land of Shornia, 1262 to be exact, there lived a poor family in a magical village. This family often struggled with getting household needs such as food, water, and cooking and hunting materials. And to add to it, the mother was pregnant! One day she needed to pick wheat for dinner that night. The regular wheat field was overly crowded that day so the mother had to take extreme measures. There was a glowing, forbidden wheat field on the other side of the village. Wanting to support her family, she went and picked the glowing wheat. After dinner, she suddenly felt a jolt. The baby was coming!

When Tyler was born, he was glowing. Literally! Everyone came to gaze upon this luminous baby. But there was something about him that his family couldn't put their finger on. Whenever he sneezed, someone would lie when they were about to tell the truth. And the people were very honest. Whenever he burped, someone bragged instead of being humble and the people were very humble. Whenever he laughed, someone would judge another person instead of giving a compliment, and that was weird because everyone was nice. But before we get into his story, let me tell you a little bit about Shornia.

Shornia is an island. The whole land is surrounded by a beach, hence the name Shornia. There are bright yellow wheat fields on this island because the goddess making this island wanted the people to have a little variety. This place is everyone's happy place. The birds are always chirping, you can smell and feel the fresh air in your face. When you sit in the grass, you can feel the soft, fuzzy heaven on your skin. Everyone that lives here loves the land and wouldn't want it any other way. Well, not everyone. There was a girl and her sister that wanted a change. Heather and Veronica. Heather was a very attractive girl, the most attractive girl in the land.Veronica was known to be very ugly and hideous. She was often mean to the people while Heather was kind and sweet, even though she felt the same way on the inside. Heather and Veronica wanted to try new things and fluctuate Shornia. Now, Heather grew up with Tyler. As a young man, he became the most respected in the village. He would travel with his parents so most places the creatures or people in other villages would know him. Not only is he well respected, he is handsome. When they grew up to the age of sixteen, they started dating. Tyler was in love with Heather, but Heather was just using him. You see Tyler's parents were one of the elders, meaning that they help rule the village in Shornia. So when his parents die, he will be next in line. Except the elders just decided that he was going to be king! This was Heathers' chance to take over. One day Veronica decides to take over. That day was a tragedy. Veronica and Heather are the daughters of Eris, goddess of destruction. Veronica destroyed crops, villages, and anyone who decided to be insubordinate; including Tyler's parents. After the massacre, she made everyone bow to her will. She made everyone except Tyler and Heather suffer. Heather took Tyler to the forest to talk to him.

"Heather, your sister is out of control!"

"I know. There's only one way we can stop her. There is a diamond in a cavern called Angel Destruction. If we can get it, we can stop her. I love this land and I wouldn't want to change it for anything!"

"Me too. Ok, let's do it."

"Great. Let's go."

So Heather and Tyler went on a quest to stop Veronica. First they needed to reach The Eye.

The Eye

The Eye is a forest inside of a lion's eye. Well, by that I mean it's watched by the eye of a lion. There were dark green vines with very large bushes that are sometimes as tall as a skyscraper. So far there were no creatures to be found. When the couple reached the forest, they stopped.

"Why are we stopping?"

"Because the Eye's not here yet."

"What does it look like?"
