It's a typical day in Sicily. Then again, all my days tend blend into one another. One day blends into six others, only for it to start all over again in the same order. I inhale and yawn in exhaustion.

My phone dings. I groan when I see Matteo's 'buffet, b*tch!' text. His way of saying let's go out tonight...for the umpteenth time this week. But I'd be lying if I said I didn't need the distraction.

Every day I wake up and stare at the blinds until my analytical brain overrides my melodramatic heart.

I thank God for another day and get out of bed. My bones pop as I stretch my way to the closet.

I throw on some bottoms, some socks, and some sneakers and head down the stairs to my gym to train for a few hours.

Or if I'm in the mood to leave the house early and run to The Pin for some kickboxing.

Today, I don't feel like leaving to get my workout in. As I stretch my muscles some more I stare blankly at my reflection in the mirror. Looking, but not seeing.

I've mastered my routine, so I don't have to think about it as I go through the motions. Upper body, midsection then lower body.

Sometimes I switch it up, but that depends on if I'm mentally here for it.

When I'm done, I head to the gym bar for a smoothie. My mind not really on anything in particular as I unscrew the blender lid.

My eyes scan the contents of the sectioned freezer before grabbing a few cubes of pineapple, some mango, some blueberries, some strawberry, and some acai.

I kick the freezer closed and turn my attention to the cabinet. I grab a random jug of protein and put a scoop in.

I spin the cap on, blend and take a gulp of the concoction.

I probably should have looked at the mix. That tastes like what the inside of what a hot trashcan smells like.

I down the rest and chase it with a full bottle of water, before cleaning up and heading upstairs to shower.

I try to make my showers as quick as possible since my mind tends to go into overdrive in there.

Something about steam and the sound of running water helps me think.

I definitely don't need to be doing any of that right now.
