Chapter 2: Feelings

*alarm clock goes off*

A very tired Valentina wakes up. College was calling her attendance. So she got up and got dressed. Today she decided to go all out and wear a plaid dress that was white with a black shirt underneath it. She looked good and she thought so too.

Walking her way to the classroom, she thought a bit. About how her and Liam actually remained friends past high school, and managed to end up in the same college. They were both extremely smart, although, Liam was more of the outspoken kind. Always raised his hand, gave answers, and was more of an extrovert in general. Valentina was the opposite. Shy, always knew the answer, but just didn't want to raise her hand type. Introvert type of girl.

Digging too deep into thought, she accidentally bumps into Liam as they were walking to their classes. Valentina immediately apologized to him as she picked up her books she dropped on the floor. Liam being her best friend, decided to help her. But a weird feeling rose in Val's stomach. Was it hunger? It couldn't have been, she had just eaten. Nausea? Kind of, but this was a good nausea. It was butterflies. She didn't suspect a thing. Thought it was a little weird. Despite this, she thanked him and walked into her Math class.

She got bored in the middle of it, so she texted Liam.

Val: I'm literally BORED out of my mind. How's English?

Liam: Kinda bored, but it's okay.
Liam: I'm actually not doing anything later, wanna come with me to do homework to the cafe in campus?

Val: ooooh sure :))! Never been but Desiree told me their pastries are really good!

Liam: alright! See you at 4 :)!

*time skip to 4pm*

She was still wearing the same dress that she looked good in, but Liam didn't seem to notice because he was helping her pick up the books. This time, he did. He turned into a blushing mess and complimented her on how good and pretty she looked. Valentina, has red on her face and thanks him.

As they're finishing their homework, Val sees Liam in a different way. Instead of the goofy, funny and spontaneous guy, she saw a pretty handsome dude. And she blushed- a lot.

Liam seemed to notice this and thought there was something happening to her. She assured him its nothing. But in reality, in all unfortunate circumstances, she was falling for him. Something she had feared to do ever since she was 16. And how she missed out on 5 months of her life.

The thing was, she wasn't afraid of love itself, she was afraid of the outcome. Afraid of what would happen if she fell. Afraid of the rejection and acting like a fool. Afraid of differently they would look at her. And most of all, afraid of the heartbreak.

As their study session was over and they finished all of their homework, Val decided to look up what these butterflies were. A sickness? Symptoms? Turns out they were. And now is when she realized it. Symptoms of love. "Shit." She decided to go on her phone and call her other friend Desiree about what this was about. They speak for a little. Looks like the website was right. She'd fallen for him. She hung up and immediately started to break down in tears.
