I was lying on my best friend Betty's bed with Kevin while Betty was getting ready for a date with my brother Archie."Are you excited?Nervous?" Kevin asks. "Both." Betty says and sighs "I haven't seen him all Summer" Betty adds. "Which is why nerves are acceptable but we agreed Betty it's time. You like him, he likes you" I said. "Well, then why Sky hasn't he said or done anything" Betty says. "Because Archie's swell but like most straight guys he has to be told what he wants so tell him, finally" Kevin's says before I could say anything. May I admit that this is weird because he is my adopted brother because of Fred that is. "We'll see it depends-" but Betty got cut off by Kevin "Oh my god" "What?" Betty and I say in unison "Gamechanger. Archie got hot , he's got abs now. 6 more reasons for you to take the ginger bull by the horns tonight." " Ew this is my brother we are talking about here" "Not biologically." "Still my brother." With that I left the Cooper household and went to go home and get ready for bed and go to sleep early for my first day of school.

I was sitting at the island waiting for Archie with Dad when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. " Hey Dad. First Dad of school and I'm already late." "We're already late you mean Arch and that is because of you." "You could of gone and walked with Betty." "Wanted to wait for you." "Ok then." Then Dad started to talk to Archie " Hey you uh stopping by the site later?" "Dad it's my first dad." "We got to get you going in the office so next Summer you are not on the crew." "Well I can't , I got football tryouts.... or is that not ok?" "No no no it's ok. Good luck." " Come on Arch lets go to school. Bye Dad!". I went out the front door and Archie followed and we walked to school.

I was at my locker with Archie when Reggie came up to us " Bro you are ready for football. I'm not kidding you, dude you got ripped. You're beast look at this arm of diesel. How much you benching like 220? 225? You got to give me some tips man.". Then him and Archie kept talking and then Moose joined in to but while they were talking I noticed someone who I never wanted to see again, Veronica Lodge and to make things worse she was with Betty And Kevin. Veronica and I made eye contact for like 5 seconds and then I shut my locker and walked off quite quickly.

I was standing beside Cheryl during assembly because she asked me to just stand there and look pretty I guess you can say. We had a moment of silence for Jason before Cheryl starting speaking " Thank you for that moment of silence. Many of you were lucky enough to have known my brother personally, each and every one of you meant the world to Jason. I loved my brother , he was and always will be my soulmate mate so I speak with the confidence that only a twin could have, Jason wouldn't want us to spend the year mourning Jason would want us to move on with our lives which is why I have asked the school board not to cancel the "back to school semi-formal" but rather use it as a way to heal collectively and celebrate my brothers to to short live on this mortal coil . Thank you all." I then looked up and made contact with the all to familiar boy that always wears a beanie everywhere he goes. He is also my crush ever since I have come to Riverdale. I broke eye contact with him and linked arms with Cheryl and went to class.

I was sitting with my usual group of friends listening to one of my brothers songs. Then the last person I wanted to see came over. " Can I join?" Veronica asks us and of course Betty moves over and say yes but I don't think she has recognised me yet and I am sitting on the edge of the other side of the lunch table. She then says "What are we doing?" "Listening to one of Archie's songs." Betty says, Kevin then buts in "I thought we were going to have to pretend to like it but it's actually really good.". Veronica then says "Wait that was you singing, something you wrote?" "It's rough." , Betty then says "No it's great.". "It's incredible actually, the little snippet I heard. Is that your thing, music? Are you doing something with it?" "Ya that's the plan.". Archie decides to switch the subject then "So hows your first day going good?" "Not to be a complete narcissist but I thought people would be more-"Kevin then does what he does best and buts in saying "Obsessed with you? Any other year and you would be trending number 1 for sure, this year though it's all about Cheryl trying to win the best supporting physco for Riverdale Highs very own red widow". Archie left to go to go get ready for football tryouts while Cheryl was coming over here. Veronica says " You play football to, what don't you do?". Kevin says before Cheryl comes over "Before you ask Blue Jasmine no she has not invited him to the dance yet." Betty then says "No not yet and don't talk about Archie". Cheryl comes over "Veronica Lodge , I heard whisperings. I'm Cheryl Blossom. May I sit? Sky would you mind?". She sits down beside me when I scoot over further into the bench. "So, what are you three grand gossiping about? Archie's Efrons-esque emergence from the chrysalis of puberty?". Betty gave Veronica a look for her to speak up and she did just that "Extracurriculars... Weatherbee wants me to sign up for a few." "Cheerleading , you must. I am senior captain of the River Vixens." and of course Kevin had to say "Is cheerleading still a thing?" "Is being the gay best friend still a thing?" Cheryl continues "Some people say it's retro, I say it's eternal and iconic." Veronica says "At Spence, I sat the top of the elites' pyramid. I'm in. Betty your trying out to.". Cheryl of course had to make an excuse for what Veronica said "Of course! Anyone's welcome to try out but Betty's already got so much on her plate right now and being a Vixen is kinda a full time thing but open to all. Follow me on Twitter and I'll do the same. Veronica then starting talking "Ok go ahead and hate on cheerleading but if hipster Prince Harry-" "Ronnie I would love to be a cheerleader, it would look great on my college applications but last year when I tried out Cheryl said I was to fat." Kevin of course has to say a not so nice comment "To season 5 Betty Draper, it was a great line ....but not all true" "Well your a total smoke-show now. I mean it. As hot and as smart as you are, you should be the Queen Bey to this drab high. Look, if you wanna be a River Vixen I'll help you prep, I have moves". There was a bit of a short silence before Betty spoke up "You know what, show me your moves". Veronica turned to me "Your name is?" "Skylar, Skylar Andrews but I go by Sky." "Why do you look like I know you from somewhere?" "Remember Skylar Adams?" "Wait.. Skylar!" "Live and in the flesh". With that I got up and left still not ready to face Veronica fully after what her father said to me.

I was walking home when I spotted Jug so I decided to talk to him for a few minutes before I head home. "Hey Jug." "Hey Sky. How are you?" "I've  been way better let me say that much." "What's on your mind Sky?" "Everything." "I am here if you need me ok?" "Ok. I have to get home now Jug but can we hang out more because I miss hanging out with you." "Definitely. I missed hanging around with you to. Bye Sky." "Bye Jug." I waved one final time before heading back home.

I got home and Arch has is head in his hands on the porch. "Arch? What's wrong, what happened?" "Dad found out about my music and we had a disagreement." "Let's go do something fun to get you mind off it like Pops." "Sorry can't Sky because I am going to the dance with Betty and Veronica." "I am not going to the dance so have fun." "Thank you Sky". I then left the house for Pops.

I went into Pops and got my usual which is a strawberry milkshake with extra whipped cream and sprinkles and also cheese fries. I then saw Jug sitting in his usual booth with his laptop. Jug saw me and patted the spot next to him so sat I sat down beside him.

A few minutes later my order came. I thanked the waitress that brought them down and started to eat. Jug then broke the silence by saying "Shouldn't you be at the dance with Cheryl for Jason?" "I think just standing looking pretty at the speech was enough." "Fair enough." I leant my head on Jug's shoulder and closed my eyes. The last thing I felt before I was taken over by darkness was Jug kissing my head.

I woke up but I didn't open my eyes because I didn't want to. I heard footsteps come towards the booth. "Can I sit Jughead." "If you want." "Is Sky asleep?" "Has been for about an hour." "That's good at least." "Why?" "She isn't sleeping well at home for the past 2 nights." "Oh ok." "What are you working on?" "My novel. It's about this Summer, Jason Blossom." "17 years old and how will he be remembered? As captain of the water polo team?" "The Aquaholics. Considering how he died probably not." "What I mean is, was he doing everything he was supposed to do, everything he wanted and did he even know what that was?" Then there was silence before Jug broke it once again "Coach Clayton was in here talking to Pop Tate , Varsity? Does that make you what?, Mr.Popular football god now. "No. In fact I am kinda terrified I lost my best friend tonight." "If you mean Betty , whatever happened just talk to her. You go along way , would of gone a long way with me. Just think about it you can still talk to her and make it right as for your sister here has lost her best friend and can't talk to him anymore. With that he left the diner and I opened my eyes and without saying a word I left the diner.

Word got out that Jason's body has been found so I ran down to the river and went beside Archie. When I saw the body bag that Jason was in a tear slipped down my cheek. I looked at Cheryl and she had the same expression I did. I then made eye contact with a worried looking Jug. After that I just ran away from the scene of the crime and sat by a tree sobbing quietly so no one would hear me. Then I felt to arms wrap around me and I looked to see it was Jug. I buried my head into his chest and started to cry a bit more. This was when I realised that Jason was actually gone and I would never be able to see , hear , hug or even touch him again.

It wasn't one heart that broke that night, it was two and the night was far from over. By morning everyone would be talking, texting and posting about about it. We would all be feeling it. That the world around us had changed maybe forever. That Riverdale wasn't the same town as it was before , that it was a town of shadows and secrets now. On Monday the autopsy on Jason's body would take place and I Tuesday halfway through 5th period , the first two arrests would be made.

Hey I wanted you guys to know that it might be slow updates because I started school today so I am sorry if they are slow but I will do my best to try and put one out a day.
