Alaska's Pov
"Oh Lasky, you look so pretty."
"You do too." I said as I looked at Lola's dress.
"Are you ready to go down to the dance then?"
"Hold on a second." I grabbed my phone off the bed and looked at all the message notifications from the chatroom. I held down the app icon and clicked the trashcan.

I clicked yes and watched it disappear. I sighed, locked my phone and dropped it into my clutch before taking Lola's hand and heading downstairs to the entrance hall where people were gathering.
"Hey Lasky!" Willam called as she dragged Courtney through a group of people towards us. "You look great."
"I know." I smirked.
"Full of yourself much?" Willam laughed.
"Shall we go in then?" Courtney asked. I looked up at the clock on the bell tower and nodded. I followed the others into the hall which was decked out in twinkle lights, red carpets were rolled out and ice sculptures gleamed as the dancing lights hit them.
"Oh wow, it looks so pretty." I said as I took it all in.
"How long do you think this took?" Courtney asked.
"Well I heard the people in detention had to do it." Willam muttered before getting distracted by a passing waiter.
"So do you want to dance?" Lola smiled at me. I returned the smiled and let Lola guide me over to the dance-floor where other couples were already dancing.

A hot flush came over my body and I felt myself tense up.
"Is something wrong?" Lola whispered.
"I think I just need some air."
"Alright, do you want me to come with you?"
"I'll be fine." Lola nodded and I hurried through the groups of people, not caring who I bumped in to, and out the main doors. I headed down the steps and made my way around the corner away from prying eyes. I collapsed onto the ground and tried to calm down my breathing, it wasn't working.
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know." I gasped, struggling to speak.
"Close your eyes and take slow deep breaths." I looked up at Sharon, "don't look at me, I know it's hard not to but do what I said." I closed my eyes and took slow deep breaths like she instructed.
"Keep doing that until your breathing gets easier."
"How do you know this?" I panted.
"Stop talking, and keep doing it, I'm going to get you a glass of water."
"Please...don't...leave...me." I gasped.
"I promise I won't be long...and I don't like promises."
I watched Sharon jog back into school before carrying on taking deep breaths. Surely enough it started to get slightly easier.
I heard footsteps and opened my eyes.
"Thanks." I muttered as Sharon placed the glass into my shaking hands. I sat in silence whilst I sipped the water and Sharon watched over me.
When the last drops disappeared I placed the cup in the grass, took a few more deep breaths then started to make a daisy chain, struggling with my shaking hands. Frustrated, I chucked the short chain on the grass and let the tears escape my eyes.
Sharon sat down beside me and pulled me into a hug.
"Don't cry, I know panic attacks are scary but it'll be alright."
"How do you know?" I asked as I wiped away some tears on the back of my hand.
"I've had years of practise."
"Really?"
"I don't sleep, do I?"
"You have panic attacks, like that?"
"No, worse."
"Oh."
"I'm sorry I embarrassed you, I really didn't mean to."
"I'm sorry I overreacted."
"Friends?"
"I guess."
"It's a yes or no question."
"Fine, yes."
"Can I have that dance then?"
"Huh?"
"I asked if I could dance with you at the dance."
"You really want to?"
"Why wouldn't I?"
"Your friends."
"You're my friend."
"Really?"
"Yeah, so come on."
"Can we wait a little while?"
"Still feeling weird?"
"A bit."
"Then we'll wait as long as you need."
An hour later Sharon stood up and held her hand out to me, I took it and she led me around the back of the entrance hall.
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see." I followed Sharon until she came to a stop by a window. The grass was lit up by the light coming through the hall window. Music could still be heard.
"You don't have to go back in there and have another panic attack." She said as she placed one arm on my waist and took my hand in hers.
"Also you don't have to worry about my friends, Trixie and Katya both like you."
I am not the only traveller
Who has not repaid his dept
I've been searching for a trail to follow again
Take me back to the night we met
And then I can tell myself
What the Hell I'm supposed to do
And then I can tell myself
Not to ride along with you
Sharon spun me around before her hand returned to my waist.
I had all and then most of you
Some and now none of you
Take me back to the night we met
I don't know what I'm supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met
"I'm sorry." Sharon whispered.
"It's fine." I whispered back causing her face to light up.
When the night was full of terrors
And your eyes were filled with tears
When you had not touched me yet
Oh, take me back to the night we met
I had all and then most of you
Some and now none of you
Take me back to the night we met
I don't know what I'm supposed to do
Haunted by the ghost of you
Oh, take me back to the night we met
The song ended and Sharon smiled once again and I hugged her.
"Is the wedding still on?" She asked as she hugged me back and laughed.
"No." I said as I pulled away from Sharon.
"Why not?"
"Because I'm dating someone."
"Ooh who is he?"
"It's a woman actually, a certain bus driver."
"Wow just as I thought it was me and Cerrone you wanted."
"Cerrone?" I asked.
"Our child? Don't tell me you forgot him again."
"He's called Cerrone?"
"Yeah."
"That's cute."
"As cute as me?" Sharon winked.
"Cuter."
"How rude."
"Shouldn't be so cocky."
"You said you'd tell me why you wanted to meet the day before the dance."
"Oh I knew you'd think I was a dickhead and hate me."
"Well you are a dickhead."
"Thanks."
"You're welcome."
"I should get you back to your date." Sharon took my hand and we walked hand in hand back inside.
"Thank you."
"For what?"
"Dancing with me."
"Then you're welcome."
"And thanks for helping me back there."
"I just did what any decent person would've done."
"I'm glad."
"About what?"
"That it was you I got paired with in the chatroom."
"I'm glad too."
I squeezed Sharon's hand and smiled before letting go and heading back into the hall smiling to myself.
