Chapter 5

Linda's pov

"Happy birthday sis!!!" I wake up to my brothers screaming in my ear. " ughh y'all are so annoying sometimes." I say drowsily." seems like you're even grumpier on your birthday." Tyler says.  I swear this boy is tempting me. But it's my birthday so I'll let it slide.  " Get out I gotta change. " I take a quick shower and put on a tank top and some sweatpants. I go downstairs and I'm greeted by waffles. did I mention I absolutely looooooooove food!!!! I dig in as soon as possible.

it's a Sunday so I don't really know what to do. "I'm going to do some homework.  I'll see y'all later." I say running upstairs before I get a " it's your birthday. do something fun" speech. " hold it right there young lady." my dad says.
~ you almost made it this time. poor thing
- ughh nooo.
" you will get out of this house and you are not allowed to come in till 23:59. " " but moom..." " lalalala I'm not listening to you. " she sings with her hands on her ears. You would think I'm the oldest. "GET OUT!!!!"  everyone shouts. "okay okay chill."

I go upstairs to get my phone and earphones. I go outside and stand by the
gate trying to think of what to do. I decide to go to the mall. I call Ray first to ask her what she's doing. Turns out she's a bit busy so she'll meet me later. I try Henry but he's busy too. Guess I'm on my own.

I get to the mall and obviously the first thing I think about is food. I settle for McDonalds. I'm sitting there by myself enjoying my food then I feel someone looking at me. I look around but I see no one suspicious so I continue eating. Then someone slidesin the booth infront of me. I look up and guess who it is. Ryan.

" can I help you??" I ask. " uhmm yes I'm looking for a beautiful girl who has a birthday today. I think she's turning 16." he says with a smirk. I roll my eyes but I'm exploding on the inside.

-he just called me beautiful
~he called us beautiful
- it's not like you believe it
~ neither do you.
- but let's be honest. him calling us beautiful made us feel something different. we almost believe it
~hate to admit it but yes. but whatever we do we will not fall for him.
- nope.

" hello??" he says curiously. I should stop talking to myself. " ohh sorry. she went that way." I say pointing towards the girls bathroom. " Happy birthday Linda." he says with a laugh. "thanks" I say with a smile.
" so what you doing alone on your birthday?". " I'm always alone on my birthday. Usually I'm in my room reading or watching Netflix and eat." "wow that's lonely bro." " No it's not. its actually the best time of the year for me. every single year."
" what happened this year??"" my mom kicked me out." I say with an exhausted sigh. He laughs so hard he has tears in his eyes. His laugh is so genuine and melodic. I love it.

Ryan's POV

People actually spend birthdays alone?? I feel like I need to do something about that. " Let me take you somewhere." " Ehh don't anything better to do anyway so let's go." We go out then she stops by the car. " Why did you stop?". " Just don't kidnap me okay!". I laughed so hard I almost fell over. She just stood there watching me with amusement.
