"Charlotte witnessed an unexpected rise in cases last week, with New York, New Jersey and Louisiana being the worst hit cities. President Trump today announced-"

I tuned out after that. Every day, same news. That the pandemic is getting worse and worse. I couldn't be assed to hear it again and again. I threw down the remote on the coach beside me and signed, looking around the living room, finding myself bored again, but yet, unmotivated to do anything constructive.

The growing pile of homework in my room would have been so pissed off if they were living.

I huffed and got up and stretched. Might as well just walk about. Mum wouldn't be back for another forty five minutes anyway and Peter another half an hour after that.

I hated being alone since an early age. Even at the age of eighteen, an age where some solitude is no less valuable than platinum, I sure despised it.

My phone caught my eye. The object who had been my almost constant companion in the long months of the pandemic. My hands picked it up amd I switched it on. 1 minute later the screen was black again.

I never thought the day would arrive when even my phone wouldn't interest me anymore. Slipping the phone in my shorts pockets, I walked to the kitchen and decided to make a light snack.

"Mayo, where are you?," I muttered as I searched through the kitchen cabinets. I managed to find the container and was just about to open our refrigerator for some tomatoes and cheese when Alex Turner's voice startled me.

"And I crumble completely when you cry, it seems like once again you've had to greet me with goodbye, I am always-"

I sighed and picked up the phone. Couldn't listen to my ringtone forever.

"Pri, you asshole, you were ignoring the call to listen to that sucky song again, weren't you?", my best friend, Sara's voice rang out from the metal slab in my hand.

"Nope", I said in an innocent manner, popping the "p". "Just making a sandwich, so my hands are kinda busy. And if you insult Arctic Monkeys again I ain't picking up any call of yours for sure."

"Eat your sandwich later," she basically ordered, conveniently ignoring the latter part of my previous statement "I have finally managed to get Stacy, Stella and Sana to fix a time for us to at last have a conference call!"

I wondered again how all my close friend's names all started with a "s".

"Fine, fine", I said grudgingly. " Face time then and merge."

"Already on it," she chirped.

Five minutes later I found myself in the bedroom staring into the faces of my 4 friends.

"So the next thing I know, he was hurling insults at me, like what the hell ,man, I literally sucked his dick a few months ago and now he is telling me no one should be attracted towards me!", Stacy complained.

"He is jerk,Cece," Stella said calmly."Just block him for the time being. He is probably just jealous since you dumped his sorry bottom."

"Not getting any action has gotten into his mind, perhaps",Sara added.

"That brainless nincompoop was lucky to even hold your hand", Sana piped in.

"Yeah," I said, disinterestingly.

"Pri, that's your reaction, seriously?", Stacy asked in an annoyed tone.

"Cut her some slack, Cece, Adrian happened only a few months ago." Sara said quickly.

Realization dawned on Stacy's face and she was quick to apologize.

"I am sorry, Pri, my own problems made me forget that you have them too".

"Nah, it's fine," I waved her off. "Continue abusing the bastard, what was his name again, Patrick?"

"Paramesh, Pri."

"Oh."

As my friends continued the Paramesh discussion, I zoned out. Sara remined me yet again of Adrian. The one person I was trying to forget with all my might. Despite my efforts, I got another flashback.

Adrian: Honestly, you are something else, Priscilla! I have never connected with anyone so quick!

I smiled for the umpteenth time as the message flashed on the screen. The guy sure knew how to get to me.

Me: Same here. I never found someone which whom I can share this much and not regret it even once.

Adrian: Same!

Same.

The word caused nothing but pain now.  Our word. Same.

"Priscilla Brown! Pay attention", one of the four screamed out.

"Yes?", I asked, startled.

"Did you hear the question that Sana just asked us all?, Stella asked.

"Nah, Stels, what did you ask, Sana?"

Sana signed,"I asked for all of you to tell us about the most unrealistic scenario you could think up, making it as funny and stupid as possible."

"And while you were on one of your visits to Zoneout Land, the four of us told each of our fantasies, now it is your turn",Stacy told me.

"Unrealistic, funny fantasy, eh?", I mused. "Honestly, I can't think of anything."

Sara booed,"Don't be a killjoy, I know how damn creative you can be when it is not really needed."

"Sorry", I smiled sheepishly.

"Ooo I have something for Pri!", Sana spoke up.

"Kindly tell us", Stella said wryly.

I perked up my ears too. I had gotten curious.

"Imagine Pri stuck in a house for 6 months of quarantine with Nathan, Kristian and Adrian",Sana declared, pretty proudly in my opinion

"Holy shit, that would be hilarious, imagine the tension in that house!", Sara guffawed.

"I know right, I wouldn't be surprised be Nathan punches the living daylights of Adrian", Cece laughed.

I remained quiet. That would be hellish for me. Nathan and Kristian are fine. Both were good friends of mine, Nathan perhaps more, and  other hated Adrian with their whole being. But Adrian? How was I supposed to move on with him at such close proximity?

I privately slapped myself to even be worried about a scenario like that and laughed along with them.
