Adley POV
After Nailea and I finished putting the items on the trunk, I closed the trunk and rubbed my eyes. Billie was still being a little brat and was giving me the silent treatment.
She was sitting at the backseat of the car so I decided to let Nailea drive so I can talk to her.
I opened the door and sat down next to her, she was looking down as she played with her fingers.
"Sweetie..." I put my hand on top of hers. "Are you still mad? I promise that girl doesn't mean anything to me."
She looks up to me with sad eyes and says. "Can I see my mama?"
I took a deep breath and smiled. "Of course you can, sweetie. But, are you sure it's safe?"
She adorably nodded her head. "Do you know how to get there?"
She started to look around confusingly. At this point, Nailea's head was turned towards the back, listening to us talk. Billie scrunched her face as she thought.
"Billie, we need to know your mom's location, so we can get there." I reasoned noticing how lost she was.
"Aye, are you stupid? Of course, she doesn't know the location." Nailea reckons while pointing at her head. "Did you forget she's not from here?"
I glared at her remark but she was right. Billie was so lost, you could tell just by looking at her.
"Wha- I know where my mama lives!" Billie snapped with venom in her tone which made us look at her with wide eyes. "And don't call Adley s-stupid!"
Nailea stayed quiet turned back to the front, still in shock.
"Billie..." I started, chuckling nervously. "There's no need for all that, it's fine. Apologise to Nailea."
"Oh, I remember." She gushed, completely ignoring me. " it's in Gold Dust Way San Tan Valley."
I nod my head and lean towards Nailea. "You good to drive us there?"
"Like I have a choice. She might kill me if I don't." She whispered, turning on the car. I chuckled at her and leaned back.
Most of our friends live there so it wasn't a hard drive. Nailea parked in front of a modern home and Billie excitedly got out the car, leaving the car door open.
