Lexa texted me at five freaking am. She said: COME 2 THE RIVER ASAP! So I threw on a pair of jeans and a shirt. Then I threw my feet into converse and ran out the door. I climbed up the steep path to the falls. Ages ago a tree had fallen across the river, right at the top of the falls. She was out on it. She held a box for me. "Open it!" She said. Inside was a bracelet, with A+L woven into it. "I love it!!!" I said. She tied it around my ankle. "I have mine already on." She pulled up the ankle of her jeans. Suddenly it began to sprinkle, then pour. In a matter of seconds the log was soaked. "Come to my house." I said. "Even though it's July we can make Hot Cocoa or something. It was when she jumped to her feet that she slipped. She screamed. I lunged for her and we both began to free fall of the log.
