Betty's POV~

The noise of the wind howling and rattling through the house awoke me from my slumber. I check my alarm clock and it reads half five. Ugh. Despite being up earlier than usual I get ready for the day. Today is the start of a new term at school and we have been told we will be doing a project but that's all we know.

I head downstairs and grab myself an apple and a slice of toast for breakfast. After I eat that and tell my mum I'm leaving, I head over to Archie's as we normally walk to school together.

B- Hey Archie you ready?
A- Yeah Veronica's tagging along too she crashed here after last night's party
B- What? You had a party on the night before a new term at school?
A- Yes
B- So that's what all the noise was
A- Sorry
V- Hey B, Arch, I'm ready
A- Right then let's go

The three of us headed to school but there wasn't a lot of talking which was unusual. There were bits of gossip that V was saying which happened at the party not that I really paid attention to that kind of thing.

Eventually we reached our destination after V moaning that her feet hurt for the last five or so minutes. As much as I love her as my bestie some times she can be a pain the butt.

We all headed to the student lounge and sat down on the sofas. Shortly our friends started arriving and within 5 minutes we had all 8 of us there. Me, Arch,V, Kev,Cheryl,Tessa,Monse and Reggie.

We were just chatting until the bell went but as we were chatting I saw the Serpents scheming something in the corner of my eye. Now the Serpents are a dangerous gang from the Southside. They like to cause havoc and mischief which often hurts people.

They make bets and dares on girls they could hook up with as well as bullying several people. Two of them are alright and aren't as bad as the others. They are called Fangs and Toni but that's about it of what I know about them. The worst ones are Jughead, Sweet Pea and Hardin. And well I don't really know much about Caesar.

The bell soon rang and I headed to my English Class ready to know what this project is. I sat down at my desk and waited for the teacher to explain it.

T- Alright class this project is on Romeo and Juliet. You will read the book,write an essay on it and then in your partners which I have chosen you will act out a couple scenes as it's something fun. The partners will be boy girl as we have enough for the ratio so Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge...

I couldn't believe it Veronica gets to spend almost a whole term doing a project on a romantic novel with my crush. I was so annoyed I zoned the teacher out until I heard my name be called
