Blaine knew that his grades were dropping. He knew that he wasn't paying as much attention in class as he used to and he knew that other students began to notice him because the teachers started to call him out during the lessons. But what could he do about it? It was almost January 15th. Exactly one year ago he came out of the closet at his old school. One year ago his world had changed in the most unfortunate way.

His parents also knew why he was acting different. He was more distant, even more than he usually was ever since the events from the year before. Yet it still didn't make any sense to them. What Blaine had experienced was everything but traumatic to them, even though it certainly was to the boy himself. It hadn't only changed his life, but also his way of living. He lived in constant fear of other people. He was afraid of every person on the planet. Except one.

Except for the boy with two different eyes.

Just as he was wondering if that boy would remember his eyes, just the plain dark brown ones that almost everyone in America had, someone spoke to him. At least, he thought so. The only reason he knew they were actually talking to him was because he heard his name. "Hey. You're Blaine, right? The kid from my calculus class?" The voice was deep and smooth, and it almost sent shivers down the boy's spine. He slowly looked up, meeting the blue eyes of another boy. They really sprung out with his black curly hair that softly bounced up and down on his forehead every time he moved.

"Yeah I am, why do you ask?" Blaine remarked. The other boy sat down in the seat next to him. "I was just wondering why you get in so much trouble lately. I'm sure I had seen you before, but the past few days the teachers just keep giving you detention." The boy took a rather large sip of his coffee as his blue eyes grew a bit wider in expectation of a response.

"And why would that be your concern?" The boy gulped down the last bit of his coffee and threw the paper cup in the garbage can a few feet away. "It's not, but I just wondered why. I also wonder why you're still on your own all the time while you've been here for over three months," he said. Blaine fiddled with his hands, not knowing how to answer. He had hidden his past from everyone he met for almost a year, just opening up to the first person that asked about it was not his intention.

Although, this boy did remember the date that he had come to this new school. He also noticed the weird behavior and almost seemed genuinely concerned about it. Blaine felt a slight blush take over his cheeks before he spoke up. "It's nothing, I've just been having a rough few weeks. Everyone has those every once in a while." The blue eyed boy nodded understandably before scoffing slightly. "I feel you bro, with those exams coming up even I have been sleeping bad."

Blaine's head immediately shot up. Exams? The other boy laughed a bit and tried to look him in the eyes, which he tried to avoid the best he could. "Yeah dude, those exams next week. Don't tell me you forgot about them." When it stayed silent, he laughed once again, this time a bit louder than the last. "Oh God you're screwed! You should be happy I told you."

In fact, Blaine couldn't care less about those exams. He had always been good at studying later than he meant to and still get a good grade, so it kind of turned into a habit. Although this time was different. He knew he was going to fail. Not only did the books contain a lot more information this semester, he also wasn't able to concentrate on anything. Almost every night he woke up at 3 AM, screaming at the top of his lungs only to apologise to his mother a few minutes later for waking her up. The glares and disgusted faces of the people that once were classmates or even friends would haunt him in his dreams every night. Blaine knew that wasn't going to stop anytime soon.

He also knew that the blue eyed boy was talking to him, but he was lacking all of the energy to process the words. That was until the boy snapped his fingers in front of his face. When Blaine looked up, the grin that he had used a bit too much within the last few minutes grew on his face again. "You didn't hear a word of what I just said did you?" Blaine's cheeks reddened once again and he shook his head. "No, sorry."
"It's okay, although I do think I see why you're getting in so much trouble now."
