"Let me stay for a while please."
The girl pleaded as she knelt before him. The umbrella didn't do any justice as her whole face seemingly soaked by the downpour.
But Namjoon was displeased with the insistence so much that he yelled. Unintentionally.
"NO! YOU NEED TO LEAVE OR ELSE I'M CALLING THE POLICE!"
He raised his voice. A lightning strikes at the end of his loud roar, followed with a heavy bass thunder.
He flinched at both the nature's spark and thunderclap. While the girl, she didn't show any reaction towards it.
Her focus was on Namjoon, with a face full of hope and insistence no matter how harsh Namjoon asking her to leave.
The girl looked over her shoulder. "Oh no..." she muttered, and averted her eyes back on him. Her expression changed into a horrified face.
"Please... they're looking for me. I can't go back now, and once they catch me there's no way I can escape this time." The girl stuttered as she explains. "Please..."
Namjoon was so confused and bewildered by what she said, but it definitely looks concerning that he crouched down to her level.
"You mean... Someone is coming after you?" He asked, as if the girl's explanation couldn't make it any clearer.
The girl vigorously nodded. Namjoon was having a few seconds of decision-making crisis, but the rainfall showed no sign of stopping any soon so he finally came up with an agreement.
"Fine." He breathed. "You can stay, but only for a-"
The girl immediately stood up on her feet and then sprinted her way to his house and disappeared through the front door.
"-while." That left him bewildered under the heavy rain. He looked around before followed her track in going back inside.
He closed the door behind and putting down his already soaking wet Converse on the shoe racks. He left the umbrella which belonged to girl near the door to let it dry there.
He sauntered his way further inside, stopped right in front of the door to his bedroom. He turned to his right, eyes fixed on the girl who sat right next to the shoe rack.
The girl sat while hugging her legs, forehead against her knees.
He changed his clothes, wearing a dark blue, long sleeves sweatshirt matching with a pair of dark grey sweatpants. He put his glasses on, and combed his hair in a slick back.
He left his room and the girl was still at the same spot. Except that she leaned her head against the wall, eyes closed shut while hugging her legs.
Namjoon went to the window, peeking through the curtain. The rain was still falling, but it was less downpour than earlier.
He closed the curtain back, and halted to the direction of the girl. He tried to figure out what his next move, but ended up with nothing.
He didn't know what to do.
'Maybe if I go over there and talk to her I will figure out something on the spot.' He thought. So he went for it, slowly approached near her.
But he was caught off guard when she opened her eyes where he abruptly stopped right next to the shoe rack. Although the girl didn't look at him, still it surprised him so much.
"I... um..." he stammered, unable to pick the right words to say. Scratch that, he couldn't even think properly. "It's still raining, outside. I think..."
