"Shit." I hiss putting my finger in my mouth after spilling boiling water on it.
I wipe my hand on my apron and continue making the coffee. I hand it to the woman behind the counter then go to brew another batch. My coworker, Ochaco, gives me another order to make and it's just black coffee so I pour the cup and put a top on it. I go to hand it off like always and as soon as I see the guy I drop it.
"Uh."
I've never seen him here before and most people that come here have been coming for years and we don't get new customers all that often. At least not ones this... striking.
"Are you okay?" he asks, moving some of his hair away from his face.
If I still had that coffee I'd drop again, then promptly pee my pants. One of his eyes, the one hidden behind the red half of his hair, is captivating.
I try to stutter out some excuse, but nothing coherent comes out because my brain is too preoccupied with the guy standing in front of me.
"Here you go sir."
Ochaco appears behind me handing the guy a new coffee.
"Thanks," he says, but before he turns around he looks directly into my eyes with this intense look. But it only lasts a second before he turns and leaves.
"Deku, what's wrong?"
"Nothing," I laugh scratching my neck.
I kneel down and pull the towel out of my front pocket and begin to clean up the mess I made.
"You're such a liar. Your face is bright red."
"It's not," I retort, turning my head away from her.
"You have a crush!" she gushes.
"Can Imake an order?" a customer, thankfully, interrupts leaning over the counter.
Ochaco gives me a look before standing up, apologizing, and taking the man's order.
-
A few hours later after my shift is over and the shop is closed my boyfriend comes in and leans over the counter with a smug smile.
"Can I get a coffee and a croissant, aaaand," he pauses and taps his chin thinking, "one hot ass."
I blush and push myself up on the counter unnecessarily arching my back so my butt sticks out.
"I'm sorry sir, but we're out of croissants... and coffee."
"Well I guess," he snakes his arms around my waist and leans slightly closer to me, "I'll have to fill up on that ass."
He suddenly lifts me off the counter, wrapping my legs around his waist and gripping my butt firmly. Then he kisses me hard.
"Boo!"
I scream and my boyfriend drops me.
"Ochaco, what the hell?" I question running the back of my head that just hit the floor.
"This is a place of business," she tries to state with a straight face, but giggles anyway.
"What the-"
"It's fine," I say, putting a hand on his shoulder before he can explode, "Let's just go home."
He glares at her, but obliges and slings his arm around me and we leave.
"I don't like her."
"She's harmless."
"She's always trying to pull us apart."
"C'mon she didn't know you would drop me. That part was kinda your fault," I laugh.
"No it wasn't."
I grab his hand and stop. Once he does too I face him and link my other hand with his.
"Look I'm sorry, okay?"
He sighs, "I know how you can make it up to me."
-
I wake up naked in bed and turn over to snuggle into my boyfriend but, his side of the bed is empty. I get my phone off of the table and call him but it rings out. After that I get up and get dressed on then go out to our balcony.
"How do you do it?" I question looking up at the moon.
It's a waxing crescent tonight, but it's still so bright. Even though it's not whole it's still beautiful. I reach down into my pants pocket and pull out my only comfort these days. It looks almost majestic with the moonlight reflecting off of it. I roll up my sleeve then bring it down against my skin. I wince a little, the first cut always stings more than the rest. I repeat the action until my forearm is covered in cuts. It doesn't take long for them to start bleeding since they're not that deep. I look down taking in the look of all the blood on my arm and the burning sensation they produce.
I quickly roll my sleeve back down when I hear the door open.
"Where were you?" I ask, walking back inside.
"I had to go out," he says walking over to the fridge and opening it.
"Where?"
He doesn't answer so I walk closer to him so he can hear me.
"Did you go to the gym, you're so sweaty." I chuckle swiping my finger on his chest and looking at all the sweat on it.
He grabs my wrist and shoves me back into the stove. My back hits one of the knobs turning on the burner which my elbow lands in when I catch my fall.
"Ow, jesus!" I scream as it burns more, my elbow being caught in the grates.
I pull the entire thing up and drop it on the floor, in no particular direction.
"What the fuck!" he explains when it accidentally hits his foot.
"I'm sorry." I apologize with a strain in my voice from the pain in my elbow.
"I'm going to bed."
"Wait no!"
I try to stop him but he angrily spins around and grabs the arm I just cut.
"Ah!"
"Why do you have to be so dramatic? First with the third degree now you're whining."
"These burns are like third degree." I try to argue.
"Put some ice on it, it'll be fine," he huffs then walks away.
Tears well up in my eyes and I let them fall since I'm all alone... again. Why do I always ruin everything? I regret ever asking him where he was. I should've just left it alone.
I whimper his name wishing I wasn't such an awful boyfriend to him, "Kacchan."
Hope you liked it! It'll get more exciting soon i promise i just to establish the world and lore sense it's a brand new world. Give me any suggestions you have. Don't forget to comment and vote!!! 𖦹❀♡'・ᴗ・'♡❀𖦹
