Then:
"What's your name?" I asked her smoothly. After those shots I had enough false smoothness and confidence for the both of us, she didn't need it though.
"Gemma" she said in a voice I could only describe as delicate and seductive. I could see a few beautiful tattoos on her shoulders and back thanks yo the black sleeveless low cut dress she was wearing.
"I'm Pete." I said gazing into her almost grey eyes. "Would you care for a drink or two on me?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
"Those shots you had a minute ago seemed like a good idea" she winked at me.
"Shots it is then. I didn't have you figured for girlie drinks anyway." I laughed and ordered the drinks.
The bar tender quickly slid the two over filled shots our way and she downed hers faster than me.
"What's that supposed to mean?" She teased as I took my shot. The burning liquid slid down my throat and her eyes staring into mine burnt worse than the shot.
"Your beautiful and elegant looking, but you also seem powerful like you could kill a guy." I was worried shed take what I had just said to offence instead of a compliment but to my surprise she just laughed a melodic laugh.
"Thank you Pete." She miles her bright smile at me "what do you say to another shot or two?"
"You are my kind of fun." I said.
I know we hit it off, but I can barely remember the taxi back to my hotel with her.
Now:
I wake up in my bed in LA. The kids are gone, the girlfriend is gone. I fucked all that up weeks ago. That's why I decided to go visit Joe in New York, I needed a change of scenery, a vacation. I don't even remember what my girlfriend and I fought about Two weeks ago that caused her to leave, something petty and mostly my fault probably.
I sighed and stretched my muscles in the absolute silence of my house. I felt alone, no one to wake up to or say good morning to. I closed my eyes and groaned remembering even more of my week in New York.
Then:
We just kept drinking throughout the night. She had me wrapped around her finger and doing anything she wanted to do, we were living in the moment. To put things gently our sex wasn't just sex, it was closer we were in tune. Every breath she took I was hyper aware of. She gave me some false sense of security in some way. She had me hooked.
