I'm not the owner of these characters, just a temporary harbor for their stories to live in. Much like other Fanfiction authors, I seek to continue a story in my own minds' eye.
I've been a devoted and loving fan of both the novels I've merged in this piece for years. I'd happily pick up another Unwind novel any day and I crave the day we get a series to continue the magic that Neal Shusterman has created. And on the other hand, I still see some of myself in Elizabeth Hall and her tale in Elsewhere, a novel that helped me grieve over and over again throughout my life. The last time I read Elsewhere was after my father's passing to give myself the sense that life goes on, even in other ways. So a big thank you to Gabrielle Zevin for giving us Elsewhere and to helping me heal as a result of your gift to the world.
I hope to continue the legacy these two fine works have left by blending them together.
And if Gabrielle Zevin or Neal Shusterman ever happen to read this Fanfiction novel, I hope they enjoy it even a fraction of how much I enjoyed their works.
