I threw on my coat then slung my backpack over my back. My heart was still beating fast from yesterday, and I couldn't stop thinking of the letter. I walk out of my apartment and lock the door behind me. I eventually made it outside, the weather was very cool and breezy. I then proceed to walk and follow my route to school, but then I see Yves to my right, walking straight towards me. I shy away from her then look straight at the ground, fidgeting with my hands. "Good morning!" She said with a bright smile. She then reaches for her coat pocket and pulls out a piece of paper. It was my letter. She unfolds the paper as she read it aloud to me. "Yves, I was so surprised to find out that you live right next to me. It makes me feel happy because now I know one of my friends are just around the corner. I also feel happy because of our walk together. We should take walks more and I also wish to hang out with you on weekends. This letter is short I'm sorry but that's all I have for now. Thank you for being a good friend. Sincerely, y/n."
She then folds it up and returns it to her pocket. My face instantly became a tomato. "You're so nice to me!" She said while smiling happily. "Thanks." I replied awkwardly, trying to hide away my face. Yves then places her hand on my shoulder and we walk together to school.
It was very quiet during my third period class, and everyone was super focused on work. I shared the same class with Yves and Jinsoul, and we usually work together, but it was just me and Jinsoul today, and Yves was in the restroom. Jinsoul taps my arm then looks at me with a concerned look. "Hey, did Yves tell you about it yet?" She whispered softly. I look at her questionably. "What is it? Did something happen?" I asked in a worried tone. Jinsoul was about to open her mouth until Yves walked in the classroom. She looked a bit down. I was about to walk up to her and ask but the bell rung for the end of class, and she quickly walked off. I was worried.
At lunch, me and Yves sat down together. She was very quiet and ate her lunch without talking to me. I then made up the courage to talk to her. "Hey, is everything ok?" I asked while looking straight at her. She slowly looks up at me, then stands up. "Follow me." She said softly. I quickly get up and follow her out of the cafeteria. I worried so much that I shook a bit. This didn't feel right, she never acts this way. We eventually end up in an empty hallway that was connected to the cafeteria, then she led to one of the lockers. The hall was dead silent during lunch time. She fidgets with her sleeve cuffs then looks up at me slowly. "I'm terribly sorry for ignoring you during the end of third period, my mood just went down." She said while looking at the floor. "What happened?" I asked softly, trying to contain my nervousness. "I was on the phone with my mom. She told me that we're moving cities because my dad found a new job to support us, and we even found a place to stay." She said while wiping her eyes a bit. My heart stopped, then my nervousness became harder to contain. "Wh- When are you moving?" I asked. "Next week." She replied. My insides began to panic, and my heart started racing out of my chest. I couldn't believe what I just heard. The girl that I've liked for so long is now moving away, and I haven't made a single move yet. The regret was catching up to me.
The day finally ends and I walk with Yves together outside. We took the same route as yesterday, but Yves was still quiet. Once we reached our apartments, Yves slowly turns to me. "I'm sorry this had to happen, and I'm sorry for not appearing like myself today." She said sadly. She covers her face trying not cry. "You don't have to apologize. W- We can try hanging out this weekend, if that makes you feel better." I said nervously. She then stares into my eyes, then her face brightens up a bit. "I don't know, I'll be moving stuff around, but we can try Sunday if that's ok." She said as she smiled at me. I blushed at her then gave her a nod. We then parted ways for today and exchanged goodbyes. Her tiny hands waved at me in the distance. I enter my apartment feeling stressed, at the same time thinking about Yves. I was worried but sad.
