"We're about an hour away!" I heard the captain yell. In front of me I saw nothing but trees and a pillar of smoke. The smell of gunpowder was strong. Today was the day, the day I would enter an American camp as a spy. 3 weeks ago I had left Great Britain to head for the colonies. The colonists were rebelling and now we were at war, in order to win the British needed to know all of the colonists' plans. That was were I and a few others came in. We would mess ourselves up in the forest and then run to the American camp. Personally, I would become a nurse, helping the other troops heal, and stealing battle plans in the meantime. Every other week, under the cover of night, a British troop would meet us near the shore. We would give him all the information we found out as quickly as possible, then go our separate ways. I was excited to be helping my country, but nervous at the same time. I had to be sneaky, and try not to draw attention to myself. We finally landed on the shore. It was a small boat, so we were able to go travel faster than usual. There were only 10 people on it, five women including myself, and five men, including the captain. "Where's the hammer?" The captain asked us. One of the men stepped up and handed the captain a large hammer. The captain swung it into the side of the boat, making multiple holes. We then all kicked the boat into the ocean. We watched as it sunk out of our sight. "Ok, there are some other American camps along the shore, Y/N and Noah, you both go to nearest one, which is right here. I'll take everyone else and we'll head up shore. Don't forget to meet your commander back here in two weeks." The man named Noah and I both nodded. We ran into the woods, tearing out clothes on tree limbs, slamming into rocks, smearing dirt all over ourselves, and running around in circles so we looked sweaty and tired. Once we were satisfied with the amount of bruises, cuts, and dirt that adorned our body we headed to the camp. Finally we both stumbled out into the camp. Men were guarding the perimeter, and the ones closest to approached us. "Halt! Who are you?" One asked. "I'm so sorry to bother you men, but me and my friend have come all the way from Boston. We were just simple tailors until the British raided our shop. They threatened us, we had to run. They ran us out of Boston and into the woods, we've been hiding for months." I said quickly. I held my stomach as it growled, we had made sure we hadn't eaten for a couple days so we seemed more believable. "Please sirs. Let us into your camp." Noah pleaded. "Your accents seem suspiciously British, I thought you were from Boston." The other guard asked. We had already though of an explanation for our accents. "We are from Britain, we lived there most of our lives but moved here in search of better lives for ourselves. Though we may be British we definitely don't support what the British are doing." Noah said. "Please sirs. I don't know how much longer we can survive in the woods." I said. The guards looked at each other, their expressions softened. "Come in, go to the large white tent with a red cross on it. The nurse will help you get patched up and then she'll get you some food." I made fake tears enter my eyes, "Thank you so much sirs." Before I started working for the British military I was a actor, and luckily those skills I learned were useful in my work as being a spy. As we walked through the camp and further away from the guards I looked at Noah. He looked at me too. We both nodded, signaling we had done a good job fooling the guards. As we walked we passed two men. One with long black hair another with curly hair and freckles. "Damn! What happened to you two?" The freckled one asked. "We were run out of Boston by the British, we've been hiding in the woods for months." Noah explained. "But you have British accents?" The other man asked. "We moved from Britain to Boston about two years ago. Our accents never wore off." I said. The men nodded. "I'm sorry about that, I'm John Laurens, and this is my best friend Alexander Hamilton. What's your names?" The freckled man asked. "I'm Noah Evans, and this is Y/N Clarke." Noah said. That was the first thing we hadn't lied about, those were our real names. "It's nice to meet you guys. We have to get going but I hope we see you guys around." John said as him and Alexander walked off. Noah and I continued to walk until we got to the tent with the red cross. "HERC YOU HAVE TO STAY STILL MON AMIE!" I heard someone yell from inside the tent. Their French accent was really strong. "IT HURTS MAN!" I heard someone yell back, their voice was really deep. Noah and I looked at each other. I shrugged and pushed open the flaps of the tent. Inside was a nurse with a pair of tweezers trying to pull something out of a buff mans leg. The man was laying on the table, he had on a beanie that was pulled over his face, you could see he was biting the beanie from inside. Next to the man was another man with a huge fluffy ponytail. I couldn't see his face though since his back was to me. "I'll be with you in a minute." The nurse said not looking up. "I got the bullet!" She said. "ENFIN!" The man with the ponytail yelled. The nurse slowly pulled the bullet out of the buff man's leg. "SHIT!" The buff man yelled. The nurse got a cloth and put the blood soaked bullet inside of it. She took a needle and thread and began to sew up the wound. "Ok Hercules, I think your good. But both of you, no more playing with the guns." The nurse said to the men. They nodded. The buff man jumped up from the cot, like he hadn't been shot. He put his arm around the man with the ponytail and they both ran outside. The nurse sighed, "How can I help you two?" I stepped forward. "My friend and I are in need of medical attention and food." The nurse patted the cot and I laid down on it. "Oh my, you're all beat up. What happened?" The nurse asked. For the third time in the last 30 minutes Noah and I explained what happened to us. After cleaning our wounds and wrapping us in gauze the nurse left to go get us some hot food. "We're in." Noah said. "Yes, but people are probably still suspicious of us, we have to do something to prove our 'loyalty'." I put air quotes around that last part. Noah rubbed his chin, "You're right." The nurse same back with some tomato soup. We ate quickly, like we hadn't eaten in weeks, though it had only been a couple days. The nurse told us we could sleep in the tent for the night. I went to sleep that night thinking about how we could convince everyone we were against the British.
