The nurse and Noah were both asleep. I sat up and went up to the edge of the tent. I didn't see anyone so I decided to sneak out. Now was a good time to scope out the surroundings. We needed an opening so that when it was time to meet our commander we wouldn't be met with resistance. I snuck around the camp, there were guards at every possible exit. I waited behind a tree to see if the guards would move. "Excusez-moi mademoiselle, but what are you doing out here so late?" Fuck. I turned around to see a shadowy figure, with a familiar fluff on the back of their head. It was the French man from the tent. "I'm just a little hungry, that's all. I didn't want to wake anyone." I lied. Just then I saw the guard move away from their post, I assumed they were being replaced. It was very quick, about 15 seconds before new guards took their place, but just quick enough for one of us to make it through. Noah and I could alternate who went to go meet the commander. "Well if your hungry I can help you sneak some food." The Frenchmen said. "That would be nice." I smiled. I had to draw suspicion away from me, and acting friendly was the best way, but deep inside I couldn't wait to see the British burn this camp to the ground. The bodies of all these rebels sprawled across the ground, that would tell the colonists that Britain will not stand for this "revolution". The Frenchmen and I tiptoed to the food tent. "Stay here." The Frenchman said as he slipped behind a closed off part of the tent. He came back carrying a piece of bread and handed it to me. "How did you know where the food was?" I asked as I took a bite of the bread. "My friend and I got in trouble and we had to work in the food tent as punishment." The Frenchmen laughed. "The one who got shot in the leg?" I raised an eyebrow. "Oui." "You two seem to get into a lot of trouble." "Even in a war you have to have fun somehow." The Frenchman gave me a goofy smile. I smiled back but inside I made a face. Wars aren't time for fun, fun can come afterwards, if all American troops were like this they didn't stand a chance. I ate the rest of my bread. "I'm sorry to ask such a direct question, but I was just curious about your British accent?" The Frenchmen asked. "Actually I am British, but I moved from Britain to America with my friend two years ago. We were searching for a better life, hoping to find one here. Everything was going well, we had a tailor shop in Boston. And you know what the British did to Boston, we had to flee. We fully support the American cause however." I lied. The Frenchmen seemed convinced. "We'll now that you've eaten we should go back to our tents." I nodded in agreement. The Frenchmen walked me back to the infirmary and waved goodbye. I watched as I saw him disappear into the darkness. "What did you see?" Noah asked me. "An opportunity to leave the camp, only one of us can go however. We must slip through an opening during the changing of the guards." I explained. Noah nodded, "Tomorrow we execute our plans." "Yes. For the glory of Britain." I said. "May the sun never set on the British Empire." Noah added. With that we both went to bed. When I awoke Noah was already gone, I assumed he had went to go eat. "How are you feeling?" The nurse asked. "I'm feeling better." I fake smiled. "You're friend has already headed to the food tent, you can join him there." The nurse said. I nodded and got up to leave. As I walked towards the food tent I scoped out my surroundings some more, I had to be very aware of what was going on at all times while in enemy territory. "Bonjour mademoiselle." I heard behind me. It was the Frenchman, and his friend who had been shot in the leg. "Good morning." I said trying to be as cheery as possible. "Hey, I'm Hercules Mulligan. I see you've already met Lafayette." The tall buff man stuck his hand out for me to shake. "It's nice to meet you Hercules, my name is Y/N Clarke." I smiled and took hold of Hercules hand. The Frenchmen who's name I now knew was Lafayette smiled to me. "Clarke? That's a British surname." Hercules raised an eyebrow. I explained my current "situation" to Hercules and he nodded. "Will you be staying at the camp or returning to Boston?" Lafayette asked me. "I would never go back to Boston while it's under British siege, besides here I can help the American cause." Or destroy it. Lafayette seemed happy at the fact that I was staying at the American camp. "Sounds great. I'll see you around mademoiselle." I may have been seeing things but I could've sworn I saw Lafayette wink at me.

I watched as Y/N walked towards the food tent. "What do you think of her?" Hercules asked as he rubbed his chin. "She seems nice." I said. "You don't think she's attractive?" Hercules smirked. I wouldn't dare admit to him I found Y/N very attractive, I didn't care to be the subject of his teasing. "She seems nice." I said again. "Ooohhhh Lafayette's got a crush." Hercules said making kissing faces. "What's this I hear about Lafayette having a crush?" John said as he threw his arm around me. He was with Alexander of course. "I don't have a crush." I said, I could feel my face getting hot. "He's lying." Alexander laughed. My friends continued to tease me, I just plugged my ears and tried to walk away.

I quickly spotted Noah sitting on the ground in a corner. I walked over to him and he handed me a small plate of food. The food wasn't terrible considering the conditions but it wasn't great. "Have you talked to the commander yet?" I asked. "No I'm going to do that after I finish eating." Noah said. I leaned over to whisper in his ear, "Remember, look for any battle plans." Noah nodded. We ate in silence. Soon we both got up to go begin our plans. I walked back to infirmary, and opened the flaps. "Hello." The nurse said happily as she finished wrapping a bandage around a soldiers shoulder. "Hello, I have a question." I said sitting near her. "What is it?" The nurse said finishing the bandage. "I was wondering if I could help out around the infirmary. It breaks my heart to see soldiers hurt and  I want to help the war effort in any way I can." I said.  "You're free to go." The nurse said to the solider before turning to me. "That would be great, I see so many men everyday, some for minor injuries some where I have to preform full surgeries. It would be nice to have an assistant." The nurse smiled. I'm in. She stuck her hand out for me to shake, "What your name again?" "Y/N Clarke." "It's nice to meet you Y/N I'm Rebecca."
