It's time. The moment that we've all been waiting for, the sports festival, has arrived. I can't wait, that much is obvious. The main reason being that I get to fight my classmates, in a setting that is somewhat similar to the vale tudo rules.
I looked around and saw everyone mingling before the event. We all were told that we had to wear our PE uniforms, therefore everyone was wearing the same thing. Aoyama had registered a form for his belt, so he was one of the few who wore anything other than the uniform.
Through the mingles I could hear how Ashido was upset about not being able to wear her costume, and she was answered by Ojiro who said that it'll be the same for everyone.
I looked over to Kirishima, and noticed something interesting. He was throwing punches and kicks into the air, he was warming himself up. The other guys looked at him in shock, probably thinking that he looked cool when punching.
I was going to walk up and talk to him, but I was called out by Todoroki before I had the chance.
"Midoriya!" He called, and I turned to face him. I didn't give a verbal response, I only nodded for him to continue.
"In terms of strength, you're stronger than me. When it comes to tactics, you're superior. You're probably superior in technique too." He said before he paused a little.
Everyone had heard his words, and they were all looking at us by the time he decided to continue once more.
"You even have All Might helping you out... That is why I will beat you." He said, and this time everyone was shocked.
"You may be powerful, but you're still quirkless... There are limits to what you are capable of. I have a quirk, so I'm not bound by the same rules as you." He then finished.
Everyone was shocked, seeing Todoroki call me out like that. He did partly get under my skin, especially the part where he spoke as if he was stronger simply because he had a quirk. As a response I grew a sadistic smile, before I spoke.
"Do you really think that you'll beat me, because of some pathetic quirk. Please, how long can you fight before you get frostbite?" With a dense voice. Todoroki looked at me, expressionless, as I continued.
"If you wish to challenge me, fine. Just don't disrespect me by holding back... Make sure that you give it your all!" With the same voice as before. Todoroki didn't change his expression, as he nodded in agreement. I then looked towards the rest of the class, intent on saying something, but instead I giggled and said something else.
"What am I doing, you'll hear my words in the opening speech."
They were confused, but they didn't object in any way. There was silence for a while, until some hotheaded garbage decided to speak up.
"Hey Deku!" He roared, then he continued.
"I'm going to beat you! You too Icy-hot!" With another growl. Todoroki wasn't affected by this, and the class was shocked while also expecting no less from Katsuki.
"Alright... Face me in the third round, both of you!" I answered Katsuki's declaration, before I said.
"I intend on winning all three games, you better give it your all!" With the same tone as before.
"And Katsuki..." I then called, getting the attention of the hotheaded garbage. My grin grew wider, as I then spoke.
"There's only one reason that I accepted your challenge. I want to show you that all of the effort, all of the time you spent on training and developing your quirk, is nothing... But BULLSHIT!" With a voice that showed some malicious intent.
