We Only See Each Other At Weddings And Funerals (Pt. 1)

Alex's POV

Alexander Hargreeves stepped out of his car and slammed the door shut, sighing. 'What am I doing here,' Alex thought. 'I hated Reggie, he was a terrible person and the world's worst father.'

Alex brushed the thought off and walked up to the front door and opened it slowly, hearing it creak as it was pushed open. The 29-year-old stepped into the main hallway and looked around. He heard voices coming from the living room.

"I can't just call Dad in the afterlife and be like 'Dad, could you just stop playing tennis with Hitler for a moment and take a quick call?'"

Alex chuckled, recognizing the voice instantly. He strolled over to the living room and leaned against the wall, arms crossed. "You know, if anything, Dad would be talking to Hitler and finding some way to cause a spirit version of WWIII, Klaus," he pointed out. At the sound of his voice, everyone nearly jumped out of their skin and looked over.

"Alex! Mi hermano!" Klaus shouted. He stood up, holding his arms out for a hug with a joint in one hand and a bottle of vodka in the other.

Alex rose a brow and looked at his brother. "Really, Klaus? I thought you were done with that shit," Alex said disapprovingly.

Before Klaus could speak, however, he was interrupted by ape-man™️ himself. "Alex, if you're done, can you maybe sit down?" Number One asked, sounding rather irritated.

Alex sighed in annoyance and sat down on the couch next to Vanya, or Number Seven as she was known by Reginald. He smiled at the shorter girl.

     "Hey V," the male said.

     "Hi Alex."

Luther sighed. "Then there's the issue of the missing monocle."

Diego looked like he was probably going to murder someone, but held himself together. "Who gives a shit about a stupid monocle?" Alex could clearly hear the aggravation in his brother's voice.

"Exactly. So whoever took it, I think it was personal. Someone close to him, or someone with a grudge." He scanned the room, looking at every one of his siblings.

Klaus chose that moment to actually pay attention. "What do you mean?"

Diego smirked. "Isn't it obvious, Klaus? He thinks one of us killed Dad."

A wave of hurt washed over Alex. Him and Luther never really got along that well, but to accuse him of murder? That's fucking insane.

      "You do?"

"How could you possibly think that?" Vanya asked with hurt lacing her voice.

Number One tried defending himself but it was no use as nobody listened to him. After everyone left, he tried to get Allison to stay, but she just shook her head in disappointment and walked away.

*insert bank scene here*

*also insert "that's one badass stapler" here*

I genuinely couldn't remember the bank scene and I couldn't find it on YouTube either. My TV also isn't working right now so sorry, I guess

~Present~

Alex was in his room, just sitting on his bed when he heard it. The muffled music coming from Luther's room, just a few doors down. The 29-year-old started dancing around like an idiot and laughing to himself.

Out of nowhere, there was something that sounded like a crash of thunder. Alex flinched at the sudden noise and looked outside. "What the hell?" he mumbled.

Alex ran outside and didn't see what he expected. Instead of grey clouds that one would typically find in the sky during a storm, there was a blue light. Well, more like some kind of vortex, really.

"The hell is that thing?!" Diego shouted.

Luther held his hand arm in front of his face and started shouting. "Looks like a temporal anomaly. Either that or a black hole, one of the two."

"Pretty big difference there, Paul Bunyan."

Alex looked over in Luther's direction. "And a black hole isn't blue, dipshit. It's black. Hence the name 'black hole'," he said snarkily.

The blue light started flashing brightly and the wind got stronger. Klaus came out of nowhere and threw a fire extinguisher into it.

"What's that gonna do?!" Allison screamed.

Klaus shrugged. "I don't know! Do you have a better idea?" he shouted in return.

Everyone noticed that an old man was trying to come towards them from the other side of the portal thing. Alex didn't know what happened afterwards, because the next thing he saw was black.
