Shit. That is what I am thinking as I look into the eyes of my mate. I'm not meant to have one. Let alone another Alpha. Hell, I'm not meant to be an Alpha. Honestly, it killed me to see that he, or she, knew ASL. Honestly, I always knew I wasn't straight, but to have a mate that I cant even tell what gender they are. Shit. As I shake the thoughts out of my head, I look to where my mate walked off to only a few hours ago. I have been standing here, watching, hoping for them to return. I look around, seeing my pack still giving me side glances. I slowly growl at them, telling them to stop starring. I sigh, walking into the pack house and going up to my chambers. Slowly falling asleep with the mental picture of my mates eyes, hearing a faint 'Goodnight, sweet little mate' in the back of my head as my eyes droop, allowing sleep to overtake my mind and body.

Waking up to the sound of countless birds calling out will never get old, I don't understand how some werewolves hate nature, I grew up embracing it, all of my pack did. Without our forests we would be people, we couldn't shift without the heavy blanket of the green leaves and the thick trunks for my kind to weave in and out of. I walk to my window, watching as a bird  takes off from its nest, and I find myself thinking about Alpha Sam, or Sam, my mate. I can still see their liquid honey eyes, it showed that they are sweet, but have been through enough to be a good leader. I hope to see them again, even if that means I have to get over my fears. My dad always ruined things for me. The thought of my dad has me running my hand over my wrists that still have deep scars  from him and his words. Quickly shaking the thoughts from my head, I turn to prepare for the day.

I walk out and see Braden signing to me, so I walk over to him. He might be a common wolf, but he is still important, everyone in my pack helps keep us afloat, Braden helps cook and train the pups.

'So, who was that yesterday?' he signs quickly. Even though we can mindlink, I only do that with my Beta, Delta, and Gamma. You can hear my voice, and I hate that. So, I sign.

'Oh, shush, please, that was Alpha Sam, everyone has heard of them' I respond slowly, knowing that he would laugh at the fact that I signed 'shush.'

'Alpha found her mate, I knew it' he signs, smiling from ear to ear.

'How'

'You are smiling with talking about them, and everyone heard them call you their "sweet little mate"' I look away, blushing, Braden might not be high in the pack, but I still love him, no hetero.

'Bye!' I sign, quickly leaving. Everyone that can sign only signs when talking to me, I could care less, but they find it rude of they are talking to me, and I'm not 'actually' responding. They think they are being rude, they don't think I'm being rude. they respect me and my choices, and I love them for that. My pack is my family, and I would do anything for them. Walking into the kitchen, I smell the sausage and grab a link, smiling and nodding at the head cook. walking off into my office, where I will spend the rest of my day.

"Alpha!" I hear from outside my office, I can tell by the joking tone that its Kaya,

(A/N For those who aren't new, I changed Kai to Kaya, I realized I should try and have all female and NB leads and Kaya is important to the story. Also Kai was named after my boyfriend and we had a nasty breakup, so there is also that)

she has always been their for me. I quickly stand, opening the door, looking at her expectingly(?). She quickly stands up straight, "Alpha Sam is back."

I would be lying if I said I wasn't happy, but for how happy I was, I was twice as scared. I smile softly to my Beta, walking past her, grabbing her hand and walking out to the front of my pack house, seeing my beautiful mate. Softly, I smile at them.

'I'm sorry about last time, I was scared. I'm also sorry, but you go by they/them, right?' I sign, asking, wanting to be respectful.

"Yes, little mate," I hear their soft, but firm voice say. I look them in the eyes, grabbing their hand, and pulling them into a hug. As I start to shake, I hold them to me tighter."I missed you to, Bailey" As they say my name I sigh softly, loving how it sounds. they slowly back up, leaving me cold but off put by my body shaking.

'I'm sorry' I sign slowly, unsure of how mush ASL they know. They chuckle, grabbing my shaking hand with their steady one, and kisses it softly, before slowly letting it go, and signing that I didn't need to say sorry.

'Stay here for the night, so we can get to know each other, please' I sign wearily, almost embarrassed, which was strange for me, as I don't get embarrassed. They sigh softly, nodding to me, saying yes silently, which I am very thankful for. Along with that, I knew that I was in for a long night... but I hope its worth it.
